Our economy redesigned for nature and all people to flourish

关于我们

Partners for a New Economy is an international philanthropic fund focused on transforming our economy for nature and all people to flourish. We were founded in 2015 by the MAVA, Oak, Marisla and KR Foundations, to address the root causes of environmental degradation that lie within our economic system. In 2020, we were joined by Laudes and Ford Foundations, by Omidyar Network in 2022. The initiatives we fund show a deep understanding of planetary boundaries and an urgency to transform our economy to live within them. They push the frontiers of alternative economic thinking and work to change the rules, goals and mindsets underpinning our current economic system.

  • ?? Call for submissions: A Roadmap for Eradicating Poverty Beyond Growth ?? The UN Special Rapporteur for extreme poverty and human rights, Olivier De Schutter, has launched an initiative to develop a “Roadmap for eradicating poverty beyond growth” which will be presented to the UN Human Rights Council in June/ July 2026. The aim: a Roadmap that will offer a practical “Plan B”: a blueprint for concrete policy action that can guide governments and international agencies in adopting policies that prioritize human rights, care, and well-being within planetary boundaries. The Special Rapporteur has published a?call for written input to inform and shape the Roadmap, inviting all interested governments, international organisations, trade unions, civil society organisations, academics, activists and local actors, companies, and others, to contribute. Find out more here: https://lnkd.in/eWCPG4md The deadline for written submissions is 30 March 2025

???????? ?????????????????? ?????? ?????????? ?????????????? ?????????????? ?? ?????????????? ?????? ?????????????????????? ?????????????? ???????????? ???????????? – ???????? ?????? ?????????? (???????????????? ???? ?????????? ????????) - https://lnkd.in/e57M78Hr ? In July 2024, I presented a report to the United Nations Human Rights Council on ‘Eradicating poverty beyond growth’. This report broke from convention, challenging the prevailing economic growth-centric development model and traditional poverty reduction strategies that have failed to deliver on their promises; instead exacerbating inequalities and environmental collapse. Reimagining the fight against poverty is an urgent challenge. Since last summer I have been working with partners from within the UN, academics, CSOs, activists and others to move this work from presenting ?????? a post-growth approach to poverty eradication is required and what it could look like, towards proposing ?????? this transformation could be achieved in practice. This work will culminate in a practical ‘?????????????? ?????? ?????????????????????? ?????????????? ???????????? ????????????’, a blueprint for concrete policy action that will guide governments and international agencies in adopting policies that prioritize human rights, care, and well-being within planetary boundaries. Today I have published a ???????? ?????? ?????????????? ?????????? to help inform and guide this Roadmap. Your submissions will be key to shaping the Roadmap (which will be presented as part of my report to the UN Human Rights Council in June/July 2026) – ensuring it reflects diverse contexts and perspectives – and will undoubtedly influence global discussions on eradicating poverty beyond growth. I am extremely grateful for your support in sharing this opportunity to contribute to a Roadmap for Eradicating Poverty Beyond Growth, and for taking the time to submit written input. More information on how to submit can be found here: https://lnkd.in/e57M78Hr

  • ”Whether or not central banks are?mandated to support government?policies on a greener economy, an?ecological transition will be a?necessary precondition to stabilise?the macroeconomy in the long run.” ? In their feature for Alliance magazine’s latest issue, researchers Mohammed Quaisar from Council on Economic Policies and?Lydia Marsden?from UCL Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose (IIPP) outline the need to revisit central bank mandates of maintaining price and financial stability change in the face of escalating ecological crises. They reflect on actions already taken by some central banks towards realigning their objectives and tools, and highlight how philanthropic support continues to be crucial for this work. Key takeaways from their article: ? ???Environmental?and climate?risks?are already translating into?financial?and price instability,?through?materialising physical and transition risks as well as climateflation, fossilflation and greenflation. Without?action, these threats?will?disrupt economies worldwide. ???Some central?banks have?started evolving?their policies to?address?these challenges.?Institutions like the?European Central Bank?and?Bank of England?are integrating climate considerations into asset purchases and banking regulations, and the?Bank of Japan?launched a climate lending facility in 2021. However,?these policies?do not adequately reflect the scale of the threats we face. ???Continued?philanthropic support?for research, advocacy, and policy innovation in this area is essential. To ensure a stable and sustainable economy, central banks must accelerate green investments and strengthen coordination with governments. ? Despite the recent withdrawal of the FED from the Network for Greening the Financial System (NGFS), the challenges remain the same. How are civil society and philanthropy pushing central banks to rise to the challenges ahead, and what more could we do? ? ?? https://lnkd.in/eYYbSptg ???#SustainableFinance #ClimateRisk #CentralBanking #GreenEconomy
