In 2021, U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) launched the Hydrogen Shot Initiative, aiming to to reduce the cost of clean hydrogen by 80% to $1 per kilogram in one decade. ?? ? "Clean hydrogen is a game changer. It will help decarbonize high-polluting heavy-duty and industrial sectors, while delivering good-paying clean energy jobs and realizing a net-zero economy by 2050.” The DOE is seeking to accelerate emerging technologies to reduce the cost of clean hydrogen. Particle-N's catalysts have a 70% reduction in precious metal content, significantly reducing the cost for electrolyzer manufacturers, bringing us one step closer to a net zero future. ?? ?? Each year, Rice University competitively selects student start-ups from around the world, and provides them opportunities to network with venture capitalists, senior level investors, industry leaders, as well as fellow entrepreneurs. Amazon has officially adopted green hydrogen to help decarbonize their operations ?? They signed a contract with Plug Power to provide enough green hydrogen to power 30,000 forklifts and 800 long-haul trucks across the country! ?? More companies will start to follow Amazon in adopting green hydrogen, to reduce their reliance on grey hydrogen, diesel, and other fossil fuels. ? This year, the state of Connecticut will have another invitee other than Yale University in the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE)’s EnergyTech University Prize! I am thrilled to announce that my team Particle-N has been selected by the DOE to represent the University of Connecticut at this prestigious competition with a $400,000 winning prize.
