Parrott Creek is proud to be the Coordinator for the Clackamas County Behavioral Health Resource Network, a coalition of 15 community organizations who partner with the law enforcement community to help get people struggling with addiction into treatment services and support. Over the past six months we have been working with the Clackamas County District Attorney's Office to develop the county's deflection program. We were excited to give a tour of our new facilities to Clackamas County Juvenile Department and to share our vision for youth. Together we are committed to keeping kids OUT of correctional facilities and living in the community where they can access treatment, support and healing from the traumas they have experienced. This is the ethos and partnership with had with the county back in 1968 and it continues today!

"Following trauma and abuse like many of us have experienced I found peace in drugs and alcohol from a young age. I learned that when I hurt, drugs “healed” me, or so I thought. Drugs and alcohol were my escape for a long time. I got sober at the thankful young age of 19 and I couldn’t be more grateful. Today, my recovery is fun. Today, my recovery is filled with people who love and support me. Today, my recovery is put first because without it I would have nothing. Today, my recovery is filled with continuous ways of growing and learning. What I have today is what I always dreamed for myself but back then, I thought it was impossible and out of reach to get. Even the worst day sober is better than the best day using. I couldn’t be more grateful and proud of myself for putting in the work to heal the underlying factors that exacerbated my substance use. Recovery is not just about abstaining from substances; it’s about rediscovering who we are, embracing our vulnerabilities, and building a life filled with purpose and meaning. My clean date is 1/10/2017 and I’m never looking back." Payton Capparelli,?Substance Use Disorder Counselor
