All five Parkview Health Family Birthing Centers in Indiana were recognized by the Indiana Hospital Association (IHA) for excellence in infant and maternal care. ? The annual Hospital of Distinction program recognizes hospitals?that successfully implement best practices in key areas including infant safe sleep, breastfeeding, perinatal substance use, social drivers of health, obstetric hemorrhage, and maternal hypertension. ? Parkview Hospital Randallia, Parkview Huntington Hospital, Parkview Kosciusko Hospital and Parkview Noble Hospital received the Hospital of Distinction award for meeting criteria in four or five categories, while Parkview Regional Medical Center received the Center of Excellence award for meeting thresholds in one to three categories. ? “Welcoming a new addition to our patient’s family is one of the most rewarding services our physicians and nurses get to provide our communities,” said Tasha Eicher, senior vice president, women’s and children’s, Parkview Health. “We’re proud to see our Family Birthing Centers recognized once again for the high level of care we provide to our patients in Fort Wayne and our community hospitals.” ? Parkview Kosciusko Hospital, which opened its birthing center in September 2024, was recognized for the first time, while the other four hospitals have all previously appeared on IHA’s lists multiple times. Parkview Bryan Hospital also operates a Family Birthing Center but is not eligible for the IHA award because it is located in Ohio. ? Parkview welcomed just over 5,300 newborns across its six Family Birthing Centers in 2024. ? INspire is funded by the Indiana Department of Health’s Safety PIN grant and was developed to implement the delivery of best practice care for Hoosier moms and babies and to recognize hospitals for excellence in addressing key drivers of infant and maternal health. ? Indiana had an infant mortality rate of 7.2 per 1,000 live births in 2022, the latest year of data available via the Indiana Department of Health. Approximately 29% of mothers in Indiana received no first trimester prenatal care, while 10.9% of babies were born preterm (before 37 weeks gestation) and 8.7% had low birth weights of less than 5.5 pounds. Maternal mortality rates have improved across the state in recent years, but disparities remain with higher mortality rates among Black and Hispanic women and infants. ? “Pregnancy is a complex change on the body and the early months of a baby’s life are key to its long-term development,” said Dr. Tom Miller, physician executive for women’s and children’s, Parkview Health. “At Parkview, our providers are here to walk hand-in-hand with expectant mothers and their children to navigate any challenges or complications that may arise.” ? Parkview Bryan Hospital and Parkview Huntington Hospital have been named among the 2025 Top 100 Rural & Community Hospitals by The Chartis Center for Rural Health. Parkview Bryan Hospital has made Chartis’ Top 100 list six consecutive years, dating back to 2020, while Parkview Huntington Hospital has appeared on the list five times since 2016. “We are extremely proud to once again be recognized by Chartis among the top rural hospitals in the nation,” said Chad Tinkel, market president, Parkview Health Ohio. “This recognition is a direct result of the dedication and compassion of our co-workers and is reflected in the care they provide. Our patients and their families have access to high-quality care right here, close to home, in northwest Ohio.” “Community hospitals play a critical role in providing care where people need it, when they need it,” said Deb Potempa, market president, Parkview Health South. “Whether our patients are using our emergency department, undergoing surgery or welcoming an addition to their families at our birthing center, we’re proud to be able to provide both excellent care and an excellent experience in their hometown.” Chartis’ annual Top 100 award program honors outstanding performance among the nation’s rural hospitals based on the results of the Chartis Rural Hospital Performance INDEX?. The INDEX is the industry’s most comprehensive and objective assessment of rural hospital performance, scoring approximately 800 rural and community hospitals and around 1,300 critical access hospitals nationwide. Leveraging publicly available data, the INDEX is utilized nationwide by rural hospitals, health systems with rural affiliates, hospital associations, and state offices of rural health to measure and monitor performance across a variety of areas impacting hospital operations and finance. Parkview Huntington is one of only three Indiana hospitals to make this year’s Top 100 list and the only facility located in northern Indiana. Parkview Bryan was one of seven Ohio hospitals recognized by Chartis this year. Both hospitals were also among five Parkview facilities recognized by Chartis with Performance Leadership Awards in the fall of 2024 for excellent quality and outcomes, along with Parkview DeKalb Hospital, Parkview Noble Hospital and Parkview Whitley Hospital. Parkview Huntington Hospital was also recognized among Becker’s Healthcare’s Top Community Hospitals in both 2023 and 2024, while all six eligible Parkview hospitals received “A” safety grades from the Leapfrog Group in the fall of 2024. “Parkview strives to provide the best care to patients in northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio, whether that’s at our biggest hospitals or our smaller community facilities,” said Dr. Greg Johnson, regional market president, Parkview Health. “Our rural providers are often residents of the communities where they work, and we’re proud of the job they do to bring safe, effective and compassionate care to their neighbors.”

Parkview Whitley Hospital and Parkview Kosciusko Hospital each recently received Primary Stroke Certification from The Joint Commission. ? Parkview Whitley Hospital was recertified after first receiving initial certification in fall 2022. Parkview Kosciusko Hospital received its initial certification as a Primary Stroke Center after previously being certified as an Acute Stroke Ready facility in 2022 when it operated as an outpatient center (Parkview Warsaw). ? Stroke certification recognizes a hospital’s achievement in delivering evidence-based care rooted in the latest science and advancement of stroke care. Facilities undergo an onsite review by Joint Commission reviewers who evaluate compliance with certification standards including stroke program management, delivery and facilitation of clinical care and performance measures. Joint Commission standards are developed in consultation with healthcare experts and providers, measurement experts and patients. The reviewers also conducted onsite observations and interviews. ? “We’re proud to once again be certified by The Joint Commission for the quality of stroke care being provided at Parkview Whitley and Parkview Kosciusko hospitals,” said Scott Gabriel, market president, Parkview Health Northwest. “Time is a factor for patients suffering a stroke, so being able to provide high-quality, evidence-based care as close to home as possible for patients is critically important.” ? Parkview has been regularly recognized for its high-quality stroke care, including?Parkview Regional Medical Center (PRMC) receiving the American Heart Association’s Get With the Guidelines Gold Plus award?in September 2024. ? The Parkview Stanley Wissman Stroke Center, headquartered at PRMC but providing services throughout Parkview’s system of hospitals, facilitates interventional procedures and surgical treatments while permeating patient- and family-focused care and community health education throughout the system and community. Parkview’s multidisciplinary diabetes teams help patients craft a treatment plan to build self-management skills, control symptoms and improve quality of life. ? “Stroke is a life-threatening medical emergency and receiving quick and highly effective care is critical to reducing the chance of death or serious disability,”?said Dr. Fen-Lei Chang, co-medical director of Parkview Health Neurosciences. “But stroke care also extends past the initial incident as our multi-disciplinary teams work to aid recovery and prevent future strokes. Receiving certification from The Joint Commission signals to our patients that they will receive the quality and comprehensive care they need here at Parkview." ?
