???? Sean is taking on the ultimate challenge—and he’s doing it for a cause! Pictured in grey, he shared: "In order to combat the progression of disease, I’ve been peppering my calendar with athletic events to train for and attaching fundraisers to them." ?? We're cheering Sean on every step of the way at his upcoming challenges, including the HYROX Open North American Championships in D.C. this weekend, then the Fayetteville Spartan Trifecta Weekend in May! Diagnosed with Young-onset Parkinson’s on April 11, 2024 (World Parkinson’s Day), Sean, a former military pilot and current Delta Air Lines pilot, refuses to let PD define him. Instead, he’s filling his calendar with endurance events, pushing his limits, and fundraising for the Parkinson’s Foundation along the way. Join Sean in making a difference—create your own fundraiser at Parkinson.org/DIY! ??

Sincere Post Alert - I'm running this year's Boilermaker Road Race (albeit slowly/poorly) in support of the Parkinson's Foundation and in honor of my dad, Jerry Pitarresi, a pillar of the local community and proud Hamilton College graduate (1971), who was diagnosed last year. While this is (I think) my 8th Boilermaker, I'm still a comparative novice compared to my parents, who have run over 50 Boilermakers between them. Some of my fondest memories from both childhood and adult revolve around Boilermaker Sunday in July, and it means the world to me to be able to raise money to fund Parkinson's research, and to highlight one of the best events of the year in Central New York. I'd be honored if you'd donate at the link below: https://lnkd.in/eftqCgH4 Special thanks to Francesca Villa for the push to make this happen!

CHALLENGE TIME: Help Us Put Parkinson’s in Its Place! Hey friends, family, and amazing professional network — I have a small ask with the potential to make a huge impact. For the next 40 days, I’m launching a community challenge to show just how powerful we are when we come together. I’m asking each of you — personally and professionally — to consider donating just $2.00 to support my Moving Day Tampa Bay campaign with Team Jiggle Wiggle Crew, benefiting the Parkinson’s Foundation. ?? Our goal: 1,000 donors by April 30th That’s it. $2 each. If we hit our goal, that’s $2,000 directly supporting life-changing programs, education, resources, genetic testing, exercise classes, and groundbreaking research — all dedicated to improving the lives of those living with Parkinson’s and their families. ?? This cause is deeply personal to me and my family. Your donation—no matter how small—truly matters. It’s not about how much you give; it’s about how many of us step up. ?? Donate Here → https://lnkd.in/ejFr_B-S Thank you for rallying with us. Let’s put Parkinson’s in its place — together. It was an honor to speak, donate, and participate in the 2nd Annual Scott-Herndon Parkinson's Foundation Walk today—a day dedicated to strength, resilience, and community. I was especially moved to honor Mr. Leon Herndon Sr. along with Nicole Dozier, Jacques K. Gilbert and many others. His journey with #Parkinson’s embodied grace and grit. I’ll always remember him for his unwavering determination and hope. His decision to undergo #DeepBrainStimulation improved his quality of life for many years and it was a privilege to be a part of his care and witness his strength. I highlighted new advances in #DBS and #HIFU, integrating AI, imaging, and neurorestorative therapies to improve outcomes. Thank you to #TeamHerndon, including @Leon Herndon Jr. and Valerie Herndon (Stafford-Fox), for organizing a great event. Duke Eye Center was well represented, including the illustrious Eleonora (Nora) Lad. It is a wonderful way of honoring his legacy, build community and raise funds to advance research for #ParkinsonsDisease.

"Exercise in the form of climbing has changed my life," says John Rosiak, who was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2023. "Walking out of the climbing gym I feel better. That natural dopamine my brain is short of might be kicking in because of the climbing. I walk with greater confidence. My attitude toward life is positive & focused. I forget about the PD." ??♂???
