CHALLENGE TIME: Help Us Put Parkinson’s in Its Place! Hey friends, family, and amazing professional network — I have a small ask with the potential to make a huge impact. For the next 40 days, I’m launching a community challenge to show just how powerful we are when we come together. I’m asking each of you — personally and professionally — to consider donating just $2.00 to support my Moving Day Tampa Bay campaign with Team Jiggle Wiggle Crew, benefiting the Parkinson’s Foundation. ?? Our goal: 1,000 donors by April 30th That’s it. $2 each. If we hit our goal, that’s $2,000 directly supporting life-changing programs, education, resources, genetic testing, exercise classes, and groundbreaking research — all dedicated to improving the lives of those living with Parkinson’s and their families. ?? This cause is deeply personal to me and my family. Your donation—no matter how small—truly matters. It’s not about how much you give; it’s about how many of us step up. ?? Donate Here → https://lnkd.in/ejFr_B-S Thank you for rallying with us. Let’s put Parkinson’s in its place — together. It was an honor to speak, donate, and participate in the 2nd Annual Scott-Herndon Parkinson's Foundation Walk today—a day dedicated to strength, resilience, and community. I was especially moved to honor Mr. Leon Herndon Sr. along with Nicole Dozier, Jacques K. Gilbert and many others. His journey with #Parkinson’s embodied grace and grit. I’ll always remember him for his unwavering determination and hope. His decision to undergo #DeepBrainStimulation improved his quality of life for many years and it was a privilege to be a part of his care and witness his strength. I highlighted new advances in #DBS and #HIFU, integrating AI, imaging, and neurorestorative therapies to improve outcomes. Thank you to #TeamHerndon, including @Leon Herndon Jr. and Valerie Herndon (Stafford-Fox), for organizing a great event. Duke Eye Center was well represented, including the illustrious Eleonora (Nora) Lad. It is a wonderful way of honoring his legacy, build community and raise funds to advance research for #ParkinsonsDisease.

"Exercise in the form of climbing has changed my life," says John Rosiak, who was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2023. "Walking out of the climbing gym I feel better. That natural dopamine my brain is short of might be kicking in because of the climbing. I walk with greater confidence. My attitude toward life is positive & focused. I forget about the PD." ??♂??? Research suggests that there are differences in the way that men and women experience Parkinson’s disease. For example, women diagnosed with PD report different symptoms, more often report side effects and symptom fluctuations, and receive lower quality healthcare than men. Learn More. Live Better. Today, we proudly hosted the statewide Parkinson’s Symposium Watch Party at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Greenville, in partnership with the Parkinson’s Foundation Carolinas. With over 30 attendees, including patients, caregivers, and clinicians, our Greenville community came together to gain valuable insights, support one another, and grow in awareness and education. This event was broadcast across several Encompass Health hospitals throughout South Carolina, creating a powerful network of support for those impacted by Parkinson’s. A huge thank you to the Greenville Area Parkinson Society (GAPS), the Parkinson's Foundation, our incredible guest physicians, and the clinical experts who shared their time and expertise. Together, we’re moving the needle for better care, stronger communities, and more empowered lives. #ParkinsonsAwareness #NeuroRehab #EncompassHealth #GreenvilleSC #LeadershipInHealthcare #ParkinsonsFoundation #CommunityHealth #Rehabilitation #PatientCenteredCare #LiveBetter #HealthcareLeadership #GAPS #ValueBasedCare #TransformativeLeadership Natalie W. Karen's story is a daunting one, but it is important to understand the very real impact that a negative hospital experience can have on someone with Parkinson's disease. "I share my story not to frighten anyone, but to encourage people with Parkinson’s and their loved ones to advocate for themselves while in the hospital. Medical teams are not always educated on the PD or Parkinson’s medications timing and care, and this can be a scary reality when you are alone.?" Thank you, Karen, for sharing your story as the Parkinson's Foundation celebrates Patient Safety Awareness Week!
