When the iconic Panda Inn in Pasadena closed its doors in 2023, it wasn’t just for a minor facelift. The legendary restaurant, founded in 1973 by the Cherng family, was embarking on its first major transformation in two decades. Parker Brown Inc., a leading general contractor in Southern California, played a pivotal role in bringing this vision to life, combining modern design with thoughtful nods to the restaurant’s storied history. The extensive remodel is a testament to Parker Brown’s expertise in executing large-scale projects that balance tradition with innovation. The new Panda Inn boasts sleek wood paneling and dark floors that reflect the natural light streaming through floor-to-ceiling windows. The dining room has been completely reimagined, featuring alcove booths and a showstopping sushi bar crafted from layered granite, creating a dynamic focal point. In keeping with the Cherng family’s heritage, Parker Brown incorporated intricate design elements, including a circular engraved classical Chinese landscape and wooden lattice paneling that evoke the elegance of a regal banquet hall. Outside, the revamped patio provides an inviting space for al fresco dining, while a private dining room offers an intimate setting for large parties. These structural and aesthetic upgrades pay homage to the journey that brought the Cherng family from Yangzhou, China, to Pasadena, where Panda Inn became a beloved local landmark. The black portico over the entrance, emblazoned with a gilded “Panda Inn” sign, symbolizes a golden new era for the restaurant, while the interior reflects the family’s commitment to both heritage and forward-thinking design. The remodel is complemented by a refreshed menu, which introduces sushi and raw bar offerings alongside familiar Chinese-American classics. While the food remains a centerpiece, the new design elevates the dining experience, ensuring the space feels as contemporary and dynamic as the dishes it serves. Project Spotlight: Los Angeles Police Federal Credit Union - Brewer Branch Renovation We recently completed a tenant improvement project for the Los Angeles Police Federal Credit Union (LAPFCU) Brewer Branch, located at 5651 W. Manchester Avenue in Los Angeles. Covering 1,780 square feet, the project involved a complete interior overhaul to align the space with LAPFCU's standards and enhance the branch’s functionality and atmosphere. Our work included gutting and rebuilding the interior suite to create a welcoming environment for LAPFCU members. Key elements of the redesign include a new interior waiting area, a coffee bar, an expanded manager's office, and an open floor plan for branch tellers. Additionally, we enlarged the staff lounge, installed new lighting, and updated the finishes and furniture throughout. To further improve the branch’s feel, we upgraded the flooring and painted the main hallway leading into the branch. These changes create a warm, inviting entry experience. LAPFCU members have responded enthusiastically, with positive feedback on the branch's refreshed look and feel.

Completes Another Project for Eisner Health in Panorama City Parker Brown Inc., a leading general contractor in Southern California, has once again demonstrated their commitment to excellence with the completion of a significant project for Eisner Health in Panorama City. This tenant improvement project, covering a total area of 12,111 square feet, marks another successful collaboration between Parker Brown Inc. and Eisner Health, further cementing their relationship built on trust and quality. This extensive renovation spanned two floors, with the first floor covering 10,404 square feet and the second floor adding another 1,707 square feet. The scope of the project included substantial structural enhancements and state-of-the-art upgrades, all aimed at providing a safer, more efficient, and welcoming environment for Eisner Health's staff and patients. Structurally Reinforced Fa?ade: A key component of the project was the reinforcement of the building's fa?ade. This enhancement not only improves the structural integrity of the building but also ensures long-term durability, aligning with Parker Brown Inc.'s commitment to delivering projects that stand the test of time. Added Elevator: Accessibility was a top priority in this project. The addition of a new elevator ensures that all patients and staff can easily access both floors of the facility, making the health center more inclusive and user-friendly. New Roof and AC Units: Comfort and safety are paramount in any healthcare setting. Parker Brown Inc. installed a new roof along with brand-new AC units, ensuring a comfortable environment for all who visit and work at the facility, regardless of the weather conditions outside. This project is another example of Parker Brown Inc.’s expertise in handling complex and demanding construction tasks. Their ability to deliver high-quality work on time and within budget is why organizations like Eisner Health continue to trust them with their most critical projects.
