Founded in 1940, Parker Towing Company is one of the largest barge lines in the southeastern United States, operating a fleet of towboats and over 350 open and covered hopper barges as well as a fleet of 30,000 BBL tank barges. Holt Lock is open! The Army Corps of Engineers gave the green light to reopen Holt Lock after being closed for several months. The MV Alice Parker with the Touchstone Energy in the duck pond were the first through this morning. The Alice Parker is headed to Shoal Creek and the Touchstone is headed to Brookwood.
