Park City Community Foundation helps solve our area’s greatest challenges.

关于我们

Inspiring local and lasting change. Together. Park City Community Foundation plays a vital role in solving our community’s most challenging problems. By constantly identifying gaps and issues within our community, we have a keen understanding of Park City’s most pressing needs. To address these issues and fund solutions, we bring together local nonprofits, caring donors and community leaders to contribute both financial resources and innovative ideas that effect lasting change. In addition to building permanent philanthropic endowments for our region, Park City Community Foundation enables donors to establish their own charitable funds and contribute a variety of assets to them, so they can support the specific issues and organizations they care about. And because the Community Foundation is intimately knowledgeable about the nonprofit activities of our community, we’re able to advise donors on the specific organizations that are doing the most meaningful, high-impact work. At the same time, we’re continuously serving as advisors to and advocates for the full range of local nonprofits, so that every organization can be strengthened for the greater good of the community.

  • Happy International Day of Zero Waste! In observance of today, let us tell you about our Zero Food Waste Initiative ???? Park City Community Foundation launched Zero Food Waste because food waste is one of our biggest, most solvable climate challenges. It’s simple, achievable, and something we can take action on right now—without waiting on government policies or massive infrastructure changes. ?? Why does food waste matter? ? Food waste in landfills = significant methane emissions, a greenhouse gas far worse than CO?. ?? Nearly 50% of Summit County’s landfill space is taken up by food waste. A new lined cell will cost taxpayers $3.5M next year—but if we divert all food waste, we could save $1.47M annually and extend the landfill’s lifespan by decades. ? How do we fix this? Park City Community Foundation is leading the charge, bringing the right people together, launching a new waste diversion program, and tracking progress to create a replicable model for other communities. Summit County and Park City have already signed the Zero Food Waste Compact, and we’re working to expand efforts county-wide. ?? Join the movement! - https://lnkd.in/eMBUMmsw We’re teaming up with residents, businesses, and local leaders to create a community-driven effort to keep food waste from our landfills and valuable nutrients in the cycle. Small everyday changes can lead to big impact—and together, we’re showing that climate solutions don’t have to be complicated. They just need to start with us. ??

  • Shoutout to all the Women's Giving Fund members who showed up to help us prepare Easter baskets for the preschoolers at Holy Cross Ministries yesterday! And a big thank you to all of the members who purchased items from our Amazon wish list for this service project. ????????

  • Last week, Park City Council unanimously agreed to add $300,000 for the childcare program in next fiscal year’s budget! ?? This means that funding for the Needs Based Childcare Scholarship Program, which was set to run out of money at the end of 2025, will extend through June of 2026. There are over 100 children in the program, all of whom come from families that either live or work in Park City. ?? Park City Community Foundation, through our Early Childhood Alliance, has been advocating for more access to childcare in our community, as it's incredibly important for maintaining a thriving workforce. Overhead costs of the program are covered by a grant from Early Childhood Alliance, so all public funding goes straight to helping families in the program. ???? This is just the first step as more conversations about childcare access in Park City are in the works, and the budget still needs approval, but we're incredibly grateful to the council for funding such an important program. ???? ??Read the full story for more information on the council's decision and the childcare program from KPCW here: https://lnkd.in/gGP39DE7

  • Waste Less Solutions (WLS) was started in Salt Lake City in 2018 and has “rescued” 1,276 tons and $4.6 million worth of food since its inception, meaning they take surplus, edible food from businesses and events, and connect it with nonprofits that are working to feed people. This simple solution helps those who are food insecure while also reducing waste and food scraps from entering our landfills. ???????????? Back in July of 2024, Park City Community Foundation’s Climate Fund made a grant to WLS to expand their footprint in Summit County. The team is ready to roll and is looking for businesses and organizations to work with. ???? ??Want to get involved?
