We are participating with East Cooper Community Outreach’s Annual Canned Food Drive this year to help EVERYONE in our community have an amazing Thanksgiving. We are accepting donations of canned foods, shelf stable foods, dry goods, toiletries, etc! Be on the lookout for a complete list we will send out via email! Thanks in advance for any donations!

This week we are celebrating our Licensed Veterinary Technicians, otherwise known as LVTs, and everything they bring to the table! Here at Park West Vet, we are lucky to have 6 amazing LVTs that have attended various accredited schools and passed their national and state exams. They are extensively trained in the areas of parasitology, microbiology, laboratory medicine, surgical techniques, anesthesia, dentistry, and numerous other subjects that are vital to the day-to-day operations of veterinary medicine. Allie, Jane, Ann, Alice, Karen and our newest LVT, Emily, we want to say a big HAPPY LVT WEEK! We are so thankful and appreciative for everything you do for us, and happy you are here with us at Park West Vet!

This week is National Veterinary Technician Week! We are so grateful for our wonderful team of accredited Vet Techs, who have worked and studied hard to bring the BEST level of care to Park West Vet! One of the Core Values of Team PWVA is Always Better, as we never settle for just good enough. This group of women is the epitome of this core value, striving to always continue to learn and grow in their field! Wishing a happy Vet Tech Week to our team and all the LVTs in our community! Rounding out our Veterinarian Appreciation Week celebrations is Dr. Tara Harasim! Dr. Harasim is rarely seen without her shadow, Evie so we thought it was only fitting that Evie make the appreciation post photo as well! Dr. Harasim does so much good for the PWVA community! She is one of our Laparoscopic Surgery pros, providing the best possible surgery experience for our patients. She is also our go-to DVM for community education events! She and Evie have visited schools, the library, and career days to teach kids of all ages what it's like to be a veterinarian. One thing you may not know about this brilliant DVM? She's been scuba diving with sharks!!! ?? Wow, brilliant AND brave! Dr. Harasim's favorite part about being a veterinarian? "I love providing care or surgery that help animals feel better, so families can all be happy together"! Thank you Dr. Harasim for sharing your talents as a veterinarian with all of us! We know your patients and clients absolutely adore you, and we do too!

Happy Veterinarian Appreciation Week to this gem! Dr. Jen Brogie joined Team Park West Vet in 2021 and has been a huge asset to our clients, patients, and especially our team! She embodies our Core Value of #alwaysbetter and is constantly at the forefront of continuing education training for our team! Today she was visited by two of her previous military police patients, Tze and Ari, who are now retired! We all know how personable and compassionate Dr. Brogie is, but did you know that she has to have the temperature in the house or car on an even number? ....Neither did we! Dr. Brogie says "it make my whole day when a patient starts to feel better and eat again! You can see it in their eyes that they feel better and are thankful for the care"! -- we couldn't agree more! Thank you Dr. Brogie for your obvious dedication to your patients wellbeing and for always making us better as a practice! We love you!

Happy Veterinarian Appreciation Week to our lover of all creatures, great and small! Dr. Elise Mauer is well known for her compassionate demeanor and her youthful appearance, but besides being a kind-hearted, gentle soul, she is also the biggest nerd when it comes to our pocket pet friends! She and Dr. Schmidt established our exotic vet care program here at Park West Vet and her passion for it is amazing! Another thing you may not know about Dr. Mauer is that she has traveled to 6 out of 7 continents! Impressive, huh?? In 2022 she visited Thailand with her family and last year took her honeymoon in Portugal. Up next on her travel bucket list? GREECE this fall! Dr. Mauer's favorite part about being a veterinarian is "the diversity of patients and cases we get to see as general practitioners. There is always something more to learn". Thank you Dr. Mauer for all that you do for our furry friends! Your love for animals is so evident in everything you do!

Happy Friday everyone and thank you for all the love for our DVMs as we continue to celebrate Veterinarian Appreciation Week! Dr. Anna Decker is up next, and while our team has all met and even done a team building workshop with her, most of our clients would be surprised to learn that Dr. Decker has a TWIN SISTER! (heyyyy Meghan! ??) Dr. Decker is our holistic vet med specialist, so it does not come as a shock to us that her favorite part about being a veterinarian is "the privilege of coming alongside pet parents with every opportunity to help them thrive, specifically with the help of integrative medicine". Her integrative approach to veterinary medicine also bleeds into her impact on our team and hospital atmosphere as well, and it's easy to see that her passion for health, wellness, and quality of life for both pets and humans runs deep. Thank you Dr. Decker for being such a great advocate for your patients and their pet parents, and providing them with the best possible experience you can here at PWVA! You are so greatly appreciated!
