Devoted to improving the quality of life for people with disabilities through individualized employment services.
关于我们
Parents Alliance Employment Project has existed since 1982. It is unique in that it was parent initiated and operated for many years staffed solely by parent volunteers. This network of parents became proactive when the only employment option for their developmentally disabled young adults was a sheltered workshop. They fought for mainstreaming their children in the public school system and community integration. PAEP has been emphasizing integrated work with supports into businesses long before the national trend! Services provided by PAEP are based on the philosophy that all individuals have the right to work in the communities in which they live. PAEP provides a variety of programs and services to individuals with developmental disabilities including career counseling, job training and preparation, job development, job placement, and job coaching and follow-up. Each of the unique services assists individuals with disabilities develop secure career plans, enter into and retain community employment

Thank you so much to Aaron M. and the entire team at Crafty for hosting our Glenbard School District students! The tour was an invaluable experience, and it was inspiring to see our students so engaged and motivated by the opportunities at Crafty. This partnership has been such a meaningful way for our students to explore potential career paths and feel empowered to pursue real-world job opportunities. We’re grateful for the continued support and for helping shape the future workforce with such a hands-on, inspiring experience. Looking forward to many more collaborations ahead! ??
Last week, our Chicagoland fulfillment team, led by Aaron M., welcomed students from the Glenbard School District vocational program for a behind-the-scenes tour of our operations! For nearly 2.5 years, we’ve partnered with Glenbard and the Parents Alliance Employment Project to provide part-time job opportunities, host tours, and engage with students as they explore career paths. This visit was another great moment of connection—and a reminder of how workplaces can be a source of inspiration. One of the program liaisons shared: "Thank you so much for the tour of Crafty today. It was awesome! Our students were totally engaged, and it accomplished exactly what we had hoped for. After leaving Crafty, many felt empowered to pursue job opportunities like those in your distribution center." A huge shoutout to Aaron, Diggy Vann, Atlas Hyde, Ryan Walker, and the entire Carol Stream team for embodying our company value: We Explore Different Perspectives. You’re not just keeping operations running—you’re helping shape the future workforce. #WorkplaceExperience #CareerExploration #FutureOfWork #CraftyDelivers #TeamCrafty #Chicago

Our Inspired by Ability students recently participated in mock interviews, arriving dressed professionally and ready to impress! ??? The goal? To give them a real interview experience where they could practice answering questions, showcase their skills, and navigate common interview scenarios. Students were interviewed by actual employers using real job descriptions, making it a valuable hands-on learning opportunity. After the interviews, they received feedback to help improve their presentation and performance for future job opportunities. Huge thanks to the BAC members and PAEP staff for their support! #CareerReady #MockInterviews #ProfessionalDevelopment #inspiredbyability #OurAlliance #beinspiredtohire
