PARENTAL ALIENATION AND SOCIAL WORK RESEARCH PROJECT If you are a social worker with experience of working for a local authority with parental alienation cases, please do consider participating in this research and sharing your experiences through the survey. There is no existing research about social work and parental alienation in the UK and there is also no guidance to support statutory social workers trying to support children and families affected by parental alienation. On Sunday the 20th of October, a determined and mixed group of parents, grandparents, extended family members and a four-legged friend, met up to walk Pen y Fan, the highest peak in South Wales. This was not only to improve well-being but also to raise awareness of parental alienation. A big thank you to everyone who attended and an extra special thank you for those travelling many hours from the other side of the UK to attend ???? Don’t face this battle alone. We have been contacted by a student from Newcastle university who is carrying out research for a project involving parent-child relationships in the context of parental alienation. This is with the aim of developing a new measurement tool. Liam is now recruiting parents to participate in an online survey as part of the next phase of the project. This project has received ethics approval from Newcastle University and Liam is currently looking for any adult parents of children (aged 3-17) to complete a 15-20 min online survey.
