Outrage from the Latino/Hispanic community may yet tip the scales in the presidential election. Across the U.S. there are five million Puerto Rican citizens. In Georgia alone, there are some 115,000 residents from Puerto Rico and 300,000 Puerto Ricans currently serve in the U.S. military. "The Latino vote is going to be so critical," says Paramount's Tharon Johnson. Tune in to the latest Georgia Gang episode for insights on key ballot issues. https://lnkd.in/g5w47SGM

It’s a tight race! In the final days of the presidential election a new Iowa poll shows Kamala Harris with an edge over Donald Trump. Paramount’s Tharon Johnson says Republicans should be worried for good reason. “Vice President Harris is talking about strengthening the middle class, she is talking about the future and momentum for her campaign is gaining. The fact that Trump is defending states he’s won twice is a good sign for the Harris campaign.” Watch the clip for more. https://bit.ly/4hxfBmI

Paramount’s Tharon Johnson took the stage this week at Atlanta Rotary, joining political strategist Brian Robinson of Robinson Republic and Eric Tanenblatt, global chair of public policy and regulation of Dentons, to give the audience the rundown on what to expect during next week’s presidential election. “Fifty-five percent of the people who have voted already are women,” said Johnson, highlighting the wide gender gap between Democrats and Republicans, with women favoring Vice President Kamala Harris and men favoring former President Donald Trump. “I think the numbers are going our way.”

Let’s start with something I can’t believe I have to say - I don’t support non-citizens voting in Georgia. We now know definitely that they aren’t, either, as the Secretary of State’s office found only 20 non-citizens registered in the state, most of which go back over a decade. With this comprehensive audit behind us now, I’m calling on my conservative colleagues, especially on the State Election Board, to stop spreading lies and work to make voting as easy and accessible as possible to Georgia’s more than eight million lawfully registered voters.

The special election for Atlanta’s District 3 at-large seat is heating up and it all really comes down to one thing - whose name do the voters know? With the presidential election boosting turnout and drowning out smaller elections, many voters will just be looking for a name they recognize. And with five candidates on the ballot, don’t be surprised when it goes to a runoff.
