Congratulations to the City of Orting on the groundbreaking of the Emergency Evacuation Bridge for Kids! We joined city and state representatives and community members for a Golden Shovel Ceremony on Saturday, March 15. This new bridge, in the works since 1997, will provide a faster evacuation route for students and residents to safely cross SR-162 in the event of a lahar from Mount Rainier or a major flood event. Parametrix is providing design, construction management, and grant strategy and application assistance for the project, which is funded through a stewardship agreement with Federal Highway Administration and the Washington State Department of Transportation.

There’s a new route in Vallejo, CA to safely connect people to residences, workplaces, commercial centers, and schools. Congratulations to the City of Vallejo, California on the completion of a 5.5-mile section of the Bay Trail-Vine Trail! We’re thrilled to celebrate this milestone with you and the community. This section of pedestrian and bicycle facilities is part of a 47-mile route connecting the Vallejo Ferry Terminal to Calistoga, CA. Parametrix provided preliminary and final design, community outreach, and coordination with multiple jurisdictions. The project included: ??♀?5,500 linear feet of Class I facilities (shared-use paths) ?? 2,200 linear feet of buffered Class II facilities (bicycle lanes) ??13,100 linear feet of Class IV facilities (separate bikeways) RSA+ provided civil engineering support for the project. “We look forward to seeing the smiling faces on Bay Trail and Vine Trail users as they enjoy this expanded system," said Parametrix Project Manager, David Parisi. Using our immersive visualization tools to share possibilities with the public! ?????????? Yesterday evening we partnered with the City of Las Vegas to host a neighborhood meeting for the Stewart Avenue Complete Streets project! Community members learned more about transformational possibilities for the corridor using our virtual reality headset, Snap Streets 3D-printed models, prepared specifically for this project by Civil FX Visualizations by Parametrix. Stewart Avenue serves as a main corridor for residents to reach school, work, and shopping. Today, 64% of the households in this area have one or no vehicles, meaning many residents rely on walking, bicycling, or transit for daily trips. The Parametrix team is delivering the city's bold vision for Stewart Avenue by including buffered bike lanes and protected two-way cycle track, wider and ADA accessible sidewalks, upgraded lighting, street trees/shading, and bus stop improvements for safer, more accessible, and comfortable transportation choices for all corridor users. ?? It's #GroundwaterAwarenessWeek! This week serves as a reminder of responsible development, management, and use of groundwater. At Parametrix, our team of hydrogeologists evaluate the geologic and hydrologic conditions to study groundwater movement and chemistry, contributing to a variety of critical infrastructure projects including drinking water, wellhead protection, environmental due diligence, well monitoring, and more. While not everyone is a hydrogeologist, we can all do our part to help protect groundwater! Here are just a few simple things you can do to make an impact: ??Test, tend, and treat private water systems ?Maintain a local rain garden ??Evaluate your water usage ??Follow your water purveyor requirements regarding water supply, availability, and use restrictions ????Develop sustainable irrigation practices ??Fertilize your plants, yards, and crops sustainably ??Inspect private septic systems annually ??Pick up pet waste ??Properly store and dispose of household hazardous waste

We look forward to working with the City of Sacramento and the Kimley-Horn team on the Stockton Boulevard Multimodal Partnership and Bus Rapid Transit project! In partnership with Sacramento County and Sacramento Regional Transit District, the project will improve mobility and safety for all road users along Stockton Boulevard and the Route 51 BRT corridor. This corridor has the highest ridership in the region, connecting transit-dependent communities to employment opportunities, shopping, healthcare, and education. The project will provide more reliable access to transit. We used Civil FX Visualizations by Parametrix to create a rendering of what the corridor could look like once the project is complete. Federal funding has already been secured and will be supplemented by state and local funds. This phase includes alternatives analysis, environmental clearance, and preliminary engineering.
