A huge thank you to our incredible faculty which included faculty chair Mark Myerson, MD, along with Scott Ellis, MD, Lauren Geaney, MD, Kenneth Hunt, MD, and Todd Irwin, MD. The Paragon 28 Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Fellows Course is a comprehensive educational program designed to support surgeons during their fellowship. We set out to design the Gorilla? Calc Fracture Plating System to allow for various methods to approach and provide plate fixation for calcaneal fractures. This system is available now for your trauma needs. The Sinus Tarsi Plates are made from Titanium (Ti6AI4V-ELI) for improved strength and are available in two configurations to address fractures of the calcaneus through a minimally invasive approach which may be contoured intraoperatively to the surgeon’s preference. The Sinus Tarsi Support Plate has three holes under the subtalar joint to buttress the posterior facet and three anterior holes vertically in line with the calcaneocuboid joint designed to capture best bone and allow for stable fracture fixation as well as a posterior arm which extends to the posterior tuberosity of the calcaneus to allow for additional fixation. The plates are low profile (1.1 mm thick) allowing them to contour to the anatomy and are designed to reduce post-operative soft tissue irritation in footwear. Instrumentation is provided to facilitate dissection through a minimal incision and ensure accurate plate placement. Learn more about the Gorilla?
