The expansion of Healthier Oregon on July 1st, 2023, marked a pivotal moment in healthcare access for our state. By expanding Oregon Health Plan eligibility, all income-eligible residents, regardless of immigration status, can now better access essential care. Project Access NOW's contributions to this program included: *Community outreach and enrollment assistance. *Navigational support for newly eligible individuals. *Collaboration with state agencies to ensure smooth implementation. Oregon Health Authority is seeing significant influenza activity, the highest in 15 years, with hospitalizations continuing late in the season. Vaccination rates are down, and we need to reverse that trend. Vaccinations are down 4% from last year and it have been steadily dropping since 2022. “We would like 100% of people to be vaccinated to prevent the risk of severe disease, but we’ve seen the vaccination rate slip,” said Paul Cieslak, M.D., medical director for communicable diseases and immunizations at OHA’s Public Health Division.
