September in New York City meant one thing for Panorama: a whirlwind week of action-packed events during #UNGA and Climate Week in New York City.?? ? The week began with Panorama's Leadership Forum, where we hosted insightful discussions on critical issues like climate and health, online disinformation, and geopolitics. A big thank you to our speakers, partners, funders, and attendees for making it a memorable day of learning and collaboration.? ? Our team continued to participate in a wide range of events throughout the week, sharing some of their top highlights:? ? Melanie LeGrande, Managing Director of Panorama Strategy, attended Closing the Gender Gap in Climate Finance at The Climate Pledge Hub, where conversations focused on the intersection of climate and gender, and with advice on financing women leaders in the climate space.? ? Wil Watkins, Program Officer at Panorama Strategy, joined the Pandemics, Climate, Conflict –Preventing Future Shocks, hosted by our partner Pandemic Action Network, which addressed multilateral pandemic negotiations, technology transfer for vaccines and medicine, and ensuring the Global South is included in equitable solutions.? ? Elaine L. Gibbons Gibbons, Panorama Global’s Chief Impact Officer, was inspired by an MSI event at the United Nations, where Ministers from Norway, Denmark, and Canada announced a substantial increase in sexual and reproductive health and rights funding.? ? Priscilla Addison, Director of External Communications, attended the Clinton Global Initiative, where Panorama Founder and CEO Gabrielle Fitzgerald spoke about health in the face of climate change and how to create a resilient future.? ? Jennifer N. Cho, Vice President of Partners was inspired by Panorama board member and Solid'Africa President and Founder Isabelle Kamariza’s powerful journey of entrepreneurship and “big bet” partnership with Rippleworks and the Rwandan government at the Segal Family Foundation’s Spotlight Africa event.? ? We’re grateful for the opportunity to meet with so many partners in person and further collaborate on the global challenges we’re tackling together!?

Last week's United Nations General Assembly saw world leaders and philanthropists gather to discuss the greatest challenges facing our world. A question posed throughout the week was "What should philanthropy be doing?" At Panorama's Leadership Forum, an audience poll revealed that the number one emerging threat that philanthropy should prioritize over the next five years is climate change and environmental stability. However, philanthropic funding for climate remains just under 2 percent of all giving worldwide.
