The Faculty of Engineering building at the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University in Stuttgart showcases how thoughtful design encourages collaboration across 151,000 square feet of interior space. The glass-roofed atrium forms the heart of this learning environment, surrounded by 8.500 square feet of fecoplan all-glass construction that connects lecture theaters and laboratories with communal spaces. Particularly impressive are the curved fecoplan glass system wall, which creates agile student workspaces, while fecofix double-glazed meeting rooms in the administrative areas provide optimal visibility from both corridors. Transparency is a design principle at the DHBW Stuttgart that promotes cross-faculty knowledge transfer and a sense of community. An architectural expression of innovative research ?? Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering in Stuttgart develops strategies, business models and solutions for digital transformation in collaboration with companies, institutions and the public- sector. Fraunhofer selected the feco single-glazed system with high acoustic privacy values for the various departmental meeting rooms. To optimize the room acoustics, sound absorption panels are integrated into the feco single-glazed demising walls. ?? On the ground floor, the feco face-flush glazed system includes oak veneer surfaces inside the modules that match the feco solid wood panel system.
