Last week Nir Ben-Lavi and I spent a week representing Pangea Entertainment Productions in Cannes, France, as a guest of MediaLink during the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity in what can best be described as speed dating for business. The format is pretty simple: MediaLink is the intermediary between our business and others, organizing 30-minute meetings between companies that will likely have enough in common to advance both their businesses and cut right to the chase. An example might be a proven marketing company looking for new clients and a new product or service that is about to be launched looking for an audience. The secret sauce of the week is that everyone at the table is a decision-maker at their company, and both companies have been vetted by MediaLink, or are clients. There is built-in trust among both parties to maximize efficiency. We thought hard about whether we should go and spend the time and money to do so, and the net result for us was overwhelmingly positive. It was an exhausting week of business and fun, and everyone was at their best. Many attendees get six months of business outreach done in just a few days, which was certainly true for us. I’m grateful for the support from our friends at MediaLink and am even more excited about what lies ahead for Pangea Entertainment Productions after an incredible week in Cannes. #cannes #canneslions2024
