PanelClaw and Enstall were honored to host Congressman John Curtis, CRES, Solar Energy Industries Association, and the American Conservative Coalition at our Utah contract manufacturing facilities. We thank Congressman Curtis for his visit and advocacy for energy solutions that leave our planet better for future generations while reducing pollution. During the tour, we also had an opportunity to discuss the unparalleled resurgence of US Solar Manufacturing driven by energy credits that are designed to support this growth. Thank you also to Heather Reams and Abby Hopper for organizing the event. We believe these strong partnerships will help build energy solutions to drive investment and economic growth in our nation. 50 years in solar. Earlier this year, I thought that the 50th Golden Gala celebration for SEIA would have been the highlight of the year. Hundreds of solar titans, new comers and dignitaries at the National Portrait Gallery dressed up and celebrating a massive milestone. But last week, on Friday, I was honored to be a part of something even more impressive. Solar Design Associates, Inc celebrated its Golden Anniversary. Steven Strong built a company that has defied the solar coaster to not only survive, but also thrive while doing good for the world. And you know what? He built it by hiring amazing people that traveled from around the country to celebrate the milestone. From one of (if not “the first”) grid connected buildings in the USA, to one of the first (post electricity) net zero homes in the US, to twice installing solar on the White House and so much more, their storied history defies “the coaster.” They have done this with humility and greatness, innovation and compassion, brilliance and teamwork. And on Friday, their leader only spoke of the team. The team’s accomplishments, the respect for their competitors and appreciation for their friends. They celebrated with a family style pig roast, home made food brought by team members and guests, great T-shirts for the occasion and honey from their very own hive. A citation from the Massachusetts Senate and only two speeches. Hugs, stories, friendship. This was the best event of the year and one of the best of my career.
