My family had an AC outage last week, and while many regions are transitioning to cooler weather, California is going through a major heat wave. Meaning, we needed it fixed ASAP. My rule of thumb is to always get three bids for any contracting job, so I reached out to 3 different HVAC companies for bids. This is how the 3 different contractors completed their bids:? 1st contractor: Provided a quote over email 2nd contractor: Sent me a short PDF that looked like an exported Microsoft Word or Google Doc table 3rd contractor: Sent a professional-looking proposal that showed their Yelp reviews, pictures of their staff, their BBB rating, their warranty service, and included a preliminary quote All prices were within $150 dollars of each other. There was a clear winner based on professionalism, established trust, and their articulated ability to solve my pain and backstop their solution.
