Pancreatic Cancer North America funds innovative research to raise survival rates.

关于我们

Pancreatic Cancer North America (formally PancONE Network Inc.) aims to disrupt the traditional approach to discovery in pancreatic cancer by bringing together multiple sectors, innovations, and novel methods to drive real change. Pancreatic cancer is known as the world’s toughest cancer. Over the past 50 years, we’ve seen only marginal improvements in survival and yet it remains one of the most overlooked and underfunded cancers. Pancreatic Cancer North America, together with our partners at Pancreatic Cancer Canada, have decided that enough is enough. We’ve raised enough sympathy – it is time to raise survival rates.

  • #InternationalWomensDay is a time to celebrate the strong, inspiring, and empowering women in our lives. The ones who uplift us, break barriers, and push for change. But there’s a silent threat rising among women that we can’t ignore. Research shows that pancreatic cancer is on the rise in women under 55, yet it remains the deadliest major cancer. With a survival rate of just 13%, the statistics are sobering. Women deserve better - better research, better treatments, and better chances at survival. The time to act is now. Give today and demand #SurvivalNotSympathy alongside us: https://lnkd.in/ddCxeCDY

  • Early detection remains our greatest ally against pancreatic cancer. While there are no effective screening tests currently available for this disease, the results of the emerging PAC-MANN blood test are promising. In recent trials, this test correctly identified pancreatic cancer 98% of the time and detected early-stage cases with 85% accuracy. We are encouraged by this progress in early detection and will continue to monitor its potential impact for our community. • Compassionate, patient-centered care is essential for those facing pancreatic cancer. Caregivers play a crucial role in ensuring that patients are supported, heard, and treated with dignity. Today, on #NationalCaregiversDay, we want to recognize the dedicated individuals who show up every day with knowledge, empathy, and unwavering dedication. We invite you to recognize a caregiver who made a difference in your (or your loved one’s) experience with pancreatic cancer. Share your story with us in the comments and tag them to show your appreciation.

  • We are so grateful to Jazmine Michelle for turning her story of loss into an urgent call for change. Pancreatic cancer has the highest mortality rate of all major cancers, yet it remains one of the most underfunded and overlooked. By sharing stories like her Nanny’s, we can raise awareness, push for early detection, and ultimately see a future where a pancreatic cancer diagnosis is no longer a death sentence. Donate today and join us in demanding #SurvivalNotSympathy for the thousands affected by pancreatic cancer: https://lnkd.in/ddCxeCDY

  • During #BlackHistoryMonth, we recognize that pancreatic cancer does not discriminate, and neither should access to life-saving care. As rates of this disease rise, Black people face both higher diagnosis and mortality rates than any other racial or ethnic group. Yet, systemic racism, a lack of race-based cancer data, and deep-seated distrust in healthcare continue to worsen these inequities. For us to see meaningful change in pancreatic cancer survival, healthcare must be equitable for all. We remain committed to raising awareness about the signs & symptoms, funding innovative research and improved treatments, and supporting every person impacted by this disease.

  • Words have power, yet many facing pancreatic cancer hear phrases that don’t reflect their reality: “You have to stay positive,” “You’re so strong,” or even, “There’s nothing more we can do.” But the right words can also bring comfort and understanding. We believe patients deserve the autonomy to define their own experiences, including the language used to describe them. That’s why we’re engaging in this conversation with likeminded organizations such as End Well, exploring why patient-centered language matters in our latest blog post. What words of support have stuck with you, whether they brought comfort or left an impact in a different way? Share in the comments and read more on our website: https://lnkd.in/gHUgaGWk (Video source: End Well & Drea Cornejo)

  • For too long, the language of cancer has been filled with battle metaphors: “fighting,” “winning,” “losing.” But not every patient sees their experience reflected through these words. As we delve deeper into the?#WorldCancerDay?theme of?#UnitedbyUnique?and our organization's commitment to patient-centered care, our President & CEO Michelle Capobianco explains why we have chosen to embrace language that respects each person's unique experience with cancer. • On #WorldCancerDay and always, we work to amplify the voices of our community, challenge inequities in cancer care, and push for meaningful change in pancreatic cancer outcomes. No two people with pancreatic cancer are the same. Every patient has their own story, challenges, and needs. Yet all too often, this disease can leave people feeling invisible or unheard at a time when they need support the most. We believe every person affected by this disease deserves to be seen, heard, and supported in a way that reflects their unique experience. Your story matters - it can inspire others, drive change, and shape the future of patient-centered care. Share your experience using #UnitedByUnique and help us show the power of putting people first.

  • Patient-centered care is at the core of everything we do - from funding research to improve early detection and treatment options, to offering specialized programs and services that meet people where they are at. We are committed to ensuring that everyone affected by pancreatic cancer gets the care, attention, and resources they need. Ahead of #WorldCancerDay on February 4, we join the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) to showcase exactly what it means to be #UnitedByUnique. Throughout the month, we'll be highlighting our efforts to ensure every person feels empowered and supported through every stage of this disease.

  • The American Cancer Society's Cancer Facts & Figures 2025 report was released yesterday and it estimates 51,980 lives will be lost to pancreatic cancer this year. With a five-year survival rate that remains static for another year at just 13%, the lack of progress for pancreatic cancer is unacceptable; especially while survival rates for other cancers are steadily improving. Pancreatic cancer patients and their families deserve better, and your support can help us create much-needed change.
