On Saturday, we attended the 19th Annual Pancreatic Cancer Patient Symposium at Jefferson Health. Each year, we return to this event to connect with survivors and hear the latest updates from Jefferson’s dedicated staff. The stories we hear are filled with courage and hope, renewing our own commitment to the cause. We are humbled by those currently in treatment, who continue fighting every day, and we remember and honor all the loved ones who are no longer with us. It is our mission to work toward a better future for those who follow. We are grateful for the doctors, clinicians, researchers, scientists, and advocacy groups who tirelessly advance pancreatic cancer care and research. It was our extreme honor and privilege to attend Dr. Edna "Eti" Cukierman's investiture ceremony at Fox Chase Cancer Center, honoring her as an Endowed Chair Holder of the Marvin and Concetta Greenberg Pancreatic Cancer Institute at Fox Chase Cancer Center. Representing PCCF were Tony and Jane Cygan. Bruce Platt of Pancreatic Cancer Action Network was also in attendance to honor Eti. "In academia, an endowed chair represents the highest honor an institution can bestow upon a faculty member." With leaders and innovators like Eti in the field, the future outlook of pancreatic cancer detection and treatment continues to show promise. Congratulations, Eti! Last December, the Pancreatic Cancer Cure Foundation visited St. Luke's University Health Network Upper Bucks Campus Cancer Center in Quakertown. We were thrilled to see firsthand the impact of our donations on enhancing the patient experience and supporting innovative care at this state-of-the-art facility. We toured the newly-constructed cancer center, witnessing the commitment to personalized care and innovative support services that make a difference in patients' lives. American Cancer Society Released Its 2024 Facts and Figures Report Showing an Increase in the 5-year Survival Rate for Pancreatic Cancer The American Cancer Society's Cancer Facts & Figures 2024 report reveals an encouraging trend in the fight against pancreatic cancer. The five-year survival rate has now risen to 13%! Despite this progress, pancreatic cancer remains a leading cause of cancer-related deaths and is projected to become the second-leading cause by 2030. The Pancreatic Cancer Cure Foundation (PCCF) is committed to reversing this trend through funding critical research and clinical trials. The goal is to not only increase the survival rate for pancreatic cancer but also to reduce the number of people diagnosed with the disease.
