Always Ready, Always There! The Pennsylvania National Guard has deployed an HH-60 Black Hawk helicopter and a four-member crew from the 28th Expeditionary Combat Aviation Brigade, 11 Airmen from the 171st Air Refueling Wing’s Fatality Search and Rescue Team, and two Airmen from the 171st Chaplain's Office to North Carolina to support Hurricane Helene relief operations. The 28th ECAB crew is part of the Pennsylvania Helicopter Aquatic Rescue Team, while the FSRT is trained to recover victims after mass casualty incidents.

Governor Josh Shapiro announced that he is naming Brig. Gen. John Pippy to serve as Pennsylvania’s acting adjutant general, and Shapiro will be nominating Pippy for a full confirmation in the state Senate. Pippy succeeds Maj. Gen. More than 300 marchers participated in the 13th annual March For The Fallen Sept. 21 at Fort Indiantown Gap. The event, which honors service members who made the ultimate sacrifice, included 28- and 14-mile marches, a 5-kilometer run/walk or a 28-mile hand cycle race.
