Sad news from our mother company
In Memoriam - Simon Marjenberg 1941-2024 ???????????????????????? Le président, les actionnaires et les employés de Metal Trading ont le grand regret d'annoncer le décès de Simon Marjenberg, fondateur de la société, survenu le jeudi 7 novembre. Né en Belgique, Simon eut le malheur de perdre ses parents pendant la guerre. Orphelin, il vint s'installer à Metz, en France, et démarra, à 15 ans, une activité dans les métaux non ferreux, qu'il poursuivit pendant un demi-siècle. Il fut particulièrement actif dans la fonderie de zinc de deuxième fusion et la galvanisation, et créa plusieurs sociétés dans le négoce de zinc, dont Metal Trading. Sa famille, ses amis, ses collaborateurs et ses clients gardent le souvenir d'un homme profondément juste, dr?le, attaché à sa famille et à ses racines. Qu'il repose en paix. ???????????????????????? The president, shareholders, and employees of Metal Trading deeply regret to announce the passing of Simon Marjenberg, founder of the company, on Thursday, November 7. Born in Belgium, Simon tragically lost his parents during the war. Orphaned, he moved to Metz, France, where, at the age of 15, he began working in the non-ferrous metals industry, an activity he maintained for half a century. He was particularly active in secondary zinc smelting and galvanizing, and he established several companies in zinc trading, including Metal Trading. His family, friends, colleagues, and clients remember him as a fair, kindhearted man, committed to his family and proud of his roots. May he rest in peace.

It was an evening to remember at Indian Creek Country Club in Indian Creek Village, North Miami Beach. It takes into account the policies adopted, the actions taken and the results obtained by the company with respect to 21 sustainability criteria collected in four different macro-areas: Environment, Labor and Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement. Metal Trading SAS’s Fantastic 4 (a balanced mix of seasoned veterans and rising talents, each with his own super power) were thrilled to once again attend #LMEWeek2024 meetings and the London Metal Exchange Dinner. This year marked our 22nd, 10th, 2nd and 1st LME Dinners, respectively. The LME Dinner is an exclusive, invitation-only event attended by international guests of the LME and its members. It is a long-standing tradition in the metals trading community, with roots tracing back to at least the mid-20th century, though we cannot seem to find the exact date of the first dinner. No more timed speeches during LME Dinner at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House (DM me if you want to hear the interesting story behind this), but we enjoyed a super performance by the cast of the Lion King.
