Did you know that our hospitals around the country host monthly community support groups for people who have experienced a range of medical conditions, such as stroke or amputation? Loved ones and caregivers are also welcome at the support groups. Our dedicated teams put a lot of effort into support group programming that offers practical resources, community connection, and engaging topics and discussion. ? Check out PAM Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Tulsa's recent special installment of its Amputee Support Group, which brought a powerful documentary about amputees in sports to Tulsa for a special screening and panel discussion. What a special way to raise awareness and bring together the amputee community! #supportgroup #stroke #strokerecovery #amputee #amputeesupport?
Our Wednesday this week began with a Tulsa tour for Director Marci Krown, of San Diego-based Krown Media, who was in town for the premier of her new documentary, "The Power of Sports for Amputees," at the Circle Cinema. The amputee community came out to watch the movie and meet and greet the physicians and community partners that work daily with and for amputees. We were proud to partner with Cohesive Healthcare Management + Consulting, Cornerstone Caregiving, Total Wound Care, Hanger, Inc., Tulsa Cardiovascular Center of Excellence, and The Center for Individuals with Physical Challenges to bring awareness and to promote inclusivity for amputees in the greater sports community. Thank you to our expert panel for the Q&A after the movie, including Dr. Robert Marsh, orthopedic surgeon; Dr. Matthew Comstock, vascular surgeon specializing in limb salvage; Dr. Jonathan Knoblock, retired psychotherapist; Scott Stromburg, prosthetist; Michael McCarthy, PTA; and Todd Huston, mountaineer and motivational speaker. The charcuterie by 9 West Beef Ranch was absolutely beautiful and delicious. The crowd also helped PAM Health Rehab Tulsa celebrate the 3rd birthday of our Amputee Support Group. Thanks to everyone for coming out on a beautiful Oklahoma evening!

PINK was the color of the month in October, as our hospitals raised awareness about breast cancer with community events and eye-catching hospital displays. One in 8 women will receive a breast cancer diagnosis in her lifetime*, and many in our #PAMily have been touched by breast cancer in some way. We were proud to stand alongside survivors, honor those lives lost, and advocate for a cure throughout the month. #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth #thinkpink #breastcancer *Source: National Breast Cancer Foundation
