PAM Health Specialty Hospital of Hammond would like to welcome Anna Thompson to her new role as Nurse Manager. Anna Thompson is the daughter of Junior and Garnet Clement, wife of Adam Thompson, mother to Desirea and Harley Lucas, and bonus mother to Kole Carlin. She began her medical career in 2005 as a nurse tech on the Medicine Unit at North Oaks Medical Center while enrolled in the Southeastern Louisiana University School of Nursing. Upon graduating in December of 2006, she started as a staff RN and became charge nurse on the Medicine Unit at North Oaks. In February of 2012, she became an employee at Hammond Specialty Hospital (now PAM Health Specialty Hospital of Hammond) where she has held the positions of staff RN, High Obs RN, and RN charge nurse. Anna has been a leader on the night shift for quite some time and is a valuable resource for her team members. Please help us welcome and support Anna in her new role! Christy Jones graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University School of Nursing in 2000. After working for several years in diverse areas, she stumbled upon her passion in wound care in 2009. With on-the-job training under wound care physicians and NPs, she became the Director of Wound Care in a facility in 2011. In 2015, Christy completed the Wound, Ostomy, and Continence courses through WEB WOC at Metropolitan State University. In 2021, Christy came on board with PAM Health Specialty Hospital of Hammond as Director of Wound Care, and in 2024 took on a dual role as Director of Wound Care at PAM Health Specialty Hospital of Covington. Christy is also currently working on her sharps debridement certification. In the world of wound medicine, Christy has helped countless patients save life and limb along with her wound care teams. She enjoys working with other nurses and disciplines to help patients receive optimal care and the best outcomes. Christy was recently recognized as one of the distinguished 60 for 60 graduates at Southeastern Louisiana University School of Nursing’s Diamond Jubilee Gala, class of 2000. Christy credits her strong passion for nursing to the education and skills she received during her time at SELU.
