Safer streets are coming to Louisville! Palmer Engineering teamed up with KYTC and Louisville Metro to connect with the community at the SS4A Rightsizing Open House. Residents got a first look at the plans for Crums Ln and Berry Blvd, shared feedback, and learned how these improvements will reduce speeding and enhance safety for all users. With a $21M federal grant, Louisville is rightsizing 10 corridors to create safer, more accessible roads. Big thanks to everyone who joined the conversation! #SafeStreets4All #LouisvilleMetro?

This week, we celebrate the vital work of surveyors who map our world, support infrastructure, and ensure accuracy in every project. Hear from one of Palmer's surveying technicians, Will Graves, on what makes this profession so rewarding! "Surveying is more than just a job; it’s about connecting with the world around us. Mother Nature is the best canvas for our work, and using cutting-edge technology like LiDAR and point clouds allows us to capture her beauty with pinpoint accuracy. Every day, I’m out in the field, combining the natural landscape with innovative tools to help engineers build the future. I am blessed to be part of an incredible team where technology and nature come together to make a real impact. A huge shoutout to my mentors, craig P. and James Mayo, for guiding me on this journey, and to my amazing teammates, Steve Workman, Clay Lyons, Kelly Whittington, and Josh Calico, who have taught me so much and helped me develop into the surveyor I am today. Each project I work on teaches me something new, and I’m grateful for the support and knowledge they share. Every survey, every measurement, and every challenge we face brings us closer to shaping something that will stand the test of time. Here’s to the powerful blend of nature, precision, and innovation that makes surveying so meaningful!" We’re also wishing the best of luck to Ella Ward on our survey team, as she competes in the National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS) 24th Annual Student Competition in Maryland! #NationalSurveyorsWeek #Surveying #LiDAR #PointCloud #TechInTheField #SurveyorLife #NatureAndTech

Palmer’s bridge inspectors recently wrapped up routine safety inspections on 45 bridges throughout Spaghetti Junction in downtown Louisville and near the East End Tunnel. These inspections are essential for maintaining safe and reliable infrastructure -- plus you never know what you might come across along the way! Up next, we’re gearing up for Kentucky Bridge Day hosted by the Kentucky Engineering Center. Principal Brad Robson will be presenting on the Russell Fork Bridge. #BridgeInspection #InfrastructureSafety #KentuckyBridgeDay

As we wrap up National Engineers Week, we want to celebrate and recognize the extensive work our engineers do to make a difference, especially with our next generation of engineers. Supporting young professionals and creating opportunities for growth is a core part of Palmer Engineering and is highlighted in this year’s National Engineers Week theme: “Design Your Future.” ? Leading our Lexington office is Stephanie Blain, former NSPE Young Civil Engineer of 2021, newly appointed principal, and a dedicated mentor to many young engineers. Alongside Chris Mischel, she has helped shape an environment where aspiring engineers can learn, grow, and excel in civil engineering. ? At Palmer Engineering, we are proud to build a strong foundation for young engineers to succeed. Through hands-on experience and guidance from mentors like Stephanie and Chris, our co-ops and interns gain the confidence and skills to thrive. Read more below for how Palmer has helped them “Design Their Future”. #EWeek2024
