Prevention of eye injuries requires all people in areas with hazards or risks to eyes to wear protective eyewear. It is our policy to ensure that proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is utilized by all employees, supervisors, visitors, and contractors and to provide procedures for treating eye injuries. All employees, supervisors, managers, visitors, contractors, etc. must wear eye protection. Safety glasses can be obtained in the office. Some of the different types of eye protection used in our facilities are: ? Safety Glasses ? Safety Goggles with Foam Seal ? Face Shield (to be worn over safety glasses) ? Splash Goggles How To Protect Your Eyes ? Wear appropriate eye protection for your position. ? Be sure that the safety glasses worn are ANSI standard polycarbonate material. ? Never guess about the severity of an eye injury. Seek medical attention immediately following an eye injury. ? Electricity has long been recognized as a serious workplace hazard, exposing employees to such dangers as electrical shock, electrocution, burns, and fires. Using safe work practices while working around electricity or electrical-powered equipment can greatly decrease your chances of being injured by electricity. ? Maintain all electrical equipment—inspect tools, cords (no fraying or bare spots), grounds (three-pronged plugs must contain all three prongs), and accessories. Defective equipment must be repaired or replaced immediately. ? Do?not repair electrical cords with electrical tape ? Use safety features like three-pronged plugs, double-insulated tools, and safety switches. ? Keep electric cables and cords clean and free from kinks. Never carry equipment by the cord. ? Ensure machine guards are in place before using the equipment. ? NEVER remove, disable, or disengage machine guarding. ? Install or repair equipment only if you are qualified and authorized to do so. Never work on energized equipment. Use lockout/tagout procedures while performing maintenance or repairs. ? Keep a safe distance from energized parts. ? Use caution when working with electricity around water, damp surfaces, ungrounded metal, or any bare wires. Wear approved rubber gloves when working with live wires or ungrounded surfaces. Rubber-soled shoes or boots must be worn when working on damp or wet surfaces. ? We are proud to announce that Eddie Harper, our Infrastructure Manager, has completed 20 years of service with Propak IT. Eddie is a valued member of our team. He has been instrumental in ensuring that our IT systems are reliable, secure, and efficient. Eddie joined Propak IT in 2004, when dial-up internet and fax machines were the standard. He was the first full-time IT employee for Propak, and he has witnessed and contributed to the evolution of technology over the years. He has overseen countless successful IT projects, from upgrading our network infrastructure to implementing cloud-based solutions. He has also mentored and trained many IT professionals who have gone on to excel in their careers. In Propak IT, we have always strived to make customer service the priority, ensuring that issues are fully resolved and not just glossed over.
