The Ghassan Abu Sittah Children’s Fund Welcomes Second Group of Patients from Gaza to Lebanon, for Medical Treatment at AUBMC - American University of Beirut Medical Center. Beirut, Lebanon - July 12, 2024 – The Ghassan Abu Sittah Children’s Fund (GASCF), in collaboration with The Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF) and Insaan NGO announces the arrival of our second group of patients from Gaza in Lebanon. The children’s ages range from 5 to 15 years old, and they will all be receiving medical treatment at AUBMC for war injuries inflicted by the Israeli Occupation Forces. The children landed safely in Beirut on the evening of Thursday, July 11th, accompanied by their caretakers. GASCF is welcoming them and ensuring they receive the best possible medical, psychological, and social care needed during their entire stay. Thanks to our generous donors we are able to cover all expenses including, but not limited to, hospital stay, medical interventions, social welfare services, housing, food, and logistics. Their arrival reiterates GASCF’s commitment to treat children with war injuries, in Lebanon, with the highest available level of expertise in war and injury surgery and treatment. Our objective is to ensure that every child receives the necessary treatment and support before they can safely return to their community to continue their recovery. We are grateful to our donors and the community for their commitment to this cause, and will continue to post updates about the children’s progress and the Fund’s activities on our social media accounts and website. On Saturday, October 26, 2024, our PCRF Delaware chapter hosted a beautiful benefit dinner. We are grateful to share that it was a great success, selling out and raising over $70K! The evening featured a moving firsthand account by Dr. Imad Tamimi, President of the PCRF Medical Advisory Board and a dedicated surgeon who has led and participated in numerous medical missions as a PCRF volunteer. Guests also heard a powerful presentation from PCRF Director of Chapter Operations, Sarah Alrayyes, who shared updates on PCRF’s ongoing work on the ground and the impact community engagement and support has on our accomplishments. The evening also included a heartfelt performance by Delaware’s children, who sang a moving song for Palestine that deeply resonated with the audience. The chapter was also honored to have Motassem as a guest; he is receiving treatment through the PCRF Treatment Abroad Program and is under the care of our Delaware chapter. After nearly two months of a shortage in the availability of milk and baby food within Gaza, PCRF has successfully delivered two shipments of essential food supplies, providing around 60,000 cans of milk and baby food units to infants and toddlers displaced and affected by war. With families struggling to nourish their children amidst this crisis, PCRF remains committed to providing life-saving relief to ensure that these youngest, most vulnerable lives receive the essentials they need to survive and thrive. We are deeply grateful to share that Diaa and Mohammad along with two other young children have safely reached their final destinations in the US, where they will receive the critical medical care they need. This journey was not one we undertook alone, but rather one made possible through the incredible power of partnership. Working shoulder to shoulder with our valued colleagues at the World Health Organization (WHO), HCI (Human Concern International - Canada) and FAJR Scientific, each played a vital role in ensuring these children are able to receive the medical care they deserve. While each organization worked tirelessly on these vital medical evacuations and will support each through their healing journey, PCRF was honored to lead our shared convoy from Gaza to Jordan.
