POWER OF THE PURSE 2025 ?? Thank you for supporting our women and girls in Miami Dade county! We listened to Miami speakers Mayor Cava, State Attorney General Katherine Fernandez Rundle, among others - to learn about women’s leadership, domestic violence, human sex trafficking, helping women to have hope and healing. One stat was very enlightening - the worldwide human sex trafficking industry brings in $152 billion annually, with the United States generating $33 billion of that total. Very frightening. The Women’s Fund of Miami is working with federal and state law enforcement to do something to stop trafficking. Other important initiatives were; decreasing maternal and infant mortality, especially among African American women, no child goes without food, positive nutrition and health of children, women’s economic mobility, sexual violence is a gender crime with 90% of victims being females. 1300 influential women attended.
