关于我们
PainChek? is transforming pain management to help give a voice to those who cannot verbalise their pain. PainChek? is the world’s first regulatory cleared medical device for the assessment of pain, enabling best-practice pain management for people living with pain in any environment, including those who cannot reliably self-report their pain, those who can, and those who fluctuate between the two. PainChek? has enabled best-practice management in 1,800+ aged care facilities, with more than 8,800,000 digital pain assessments conducted to date, and is trusted by thousands of nurses, carers and clinicians. How PainChek? Works: During a PainChek? assessment, a camera-enabled smartphone or tablet is used to perform a real-time, AI driven analysis of the person’s face, recording micro expressions proven to be indicative of pain. The assessor’s clinical observations on pain related behaviours such as movement and voice are then recorded through an intelligently automated framework, standardising the observation format. This data is used to generate an overall pain rating – the key clinical output of the PainChek? assessment. All pain assessment data is stored securely and centrally via the cloud, and documented in PainChek?’s detailed reporting suite, PainChek? Analytics. This allows the caregiver to monitor the effect of medication and other non-pharmacological treatments over time. Using PainChek?, facilities can: * ensure greater consistency and continuity in pain management * streamline the pain assessment process for time-poor carers, with access to the PainChek? tool, the NRS, pain trends, and charting in one solution * simplify record-keeping and documentation to demonstrate compliance and support funding claims, with all historical pain assessment data in one place. PainChek? was recently featured on ABC TV in a segment highlighting how innovative technology is revolutionising aged care. Nurse Josephine Jepkoech from BaptistCare Wagga Wagga demonstrated PainChek? with a resident who had a fractured wrist and hearing loss that made communicating pain difficult. "Using the tool, I identified two pain indicators: pulling at the corner of the lips and parting of the lips," Josephine stated. "I trust the [PainChek?] assessment." The example shows how PainChek? helps healthcare professionals provide better care for residents who cannot easily express their pain verbally. Thanks to the team at BaptistCare for sharing how our digital pain assessment tool is improving care practices and resident outcomes.
