We are thrilled to welcome Kostika Gjekushi?to the Architecture Studio in the San Francisco office!?? ? Kostika, who is from Albania, will be with us for six months. He graduated from Epoka University and has experience working with architecture firms from Connecticut, France, and Albania. His interest in architecture, history, and preservation (and research on LinkedIn!) led him to Page & Turnbull. While at P&T, Kostika will be working projects in San Francisco, Silicon Valley, and on Lake Merritt in Oakland.? ? His first time in San Francisco, Kostika has just begun exploring the Bay Area. So far, he has been most impressed with?the Chinese New Year Parade and riding the historic cable cars, but his list of things to see and do includes Alcatraz Island, Fisherman's Wharf, exploring museums, and cycling across the Golden Gate Bridge.

Page & Turnbull is thrilled to be Preservation Architect—teamed with Perkins&Will, Plant Construction Company, LP, and many other engineers, designers, and specialists—for the rehabilitation & adaptive reuse of UC Law’s 100 McAllister in San Francisco. This construction video is amazing and exciting!
Over the past few months, Plant Construction Company, LP, Perkins&Will, Holmes US, Page & Turnbull, Bigge Crane and Rigging Co., Bayview Services Inc., and Pullman Services have turned close collaboration into reality. The team successfully erected the construction personnel hoist (CPH), made structural connections, and fabricated portals that enable work to begin within University of California, College of the Law, San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings)'s 100 McAllister building in San Francisco's Academic Village. The CPH ultimately preserves the century-old landmark's historic fabric while allowing for expedited installation, ensuring the existing interior elevators could be decommissioned on schedule. This video highlights its installation process.

Who doesn’t like a mini series. Move over Devil in the White City, move over.
Big Announcement: The University of California, College of the Law, San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings) has launched this affiliate LinkedIn page to share updates and insights related to the vision and evolution of their Academic Village urban campus, an initiative that invites local higher education institutions to share space and resources near San Francisco’s Civic Center. Love a good mini-series? So do we. Starting next week, we'll be sharing an inside perspective of the restoration, preservation, retrofit, and transformation of the historic UC Law SF 100 McAllister high-rise. The project team of UC Law SF, Perkins&Will, Page & Turnbull, Holmes US, and Plant Construction Company, LP will be telling the collaborative story of the process, posted in real time as the project progresses. The reports will offer a transparent lens that focuses on the challenges, opportunities, and lessons learned throughout the process, for the benefit of the design, construction, and development community at large. The 100 McAllister project is extremely complex, even in the context of historic high-rise seismic retrofits, and the team hopes telling this story will help inspire others in the community to take on challenging reuse projects to leverage our existing building resources to decarbonize new development. The content will focus on five primary themes: - Building the Partnerships? - Historic Preservation? - The Carbon Story? - Design & Coordination? - Building the Building Please follow?the mini-series through this page, enjoy some historical images, and look forward to the first article release on October 18th! #sfacademicvillage #uclawsf #highereducation #seismicretrofit #historicpreservation #design #decarbonization #perkinswillproud
