This past Friday, Page 15 was thrilled to be awarded the Creating Change award at the Association of Fundraising Professionals of Central Florida’s National Philanthropy Day Celebration! The Creating Change award is given to nonprofit organizations that successfully strengthen and empower a specific demographic or population in Central Florida. Today's Board spotlight shines bright upon one of our longest tenured supporters, and Deland native, Tom Hodges! Tom is currently a Senior Vice President of Corporate Banking at PNC, and is in his second tour as a member of the Page 15 board of directors. Tom's been our steady hand at the wheel of fiscal responsibility. Because of his thoughtful counsel we're able to grow and serve our community with confidence. Tom's the bomb ?? and we're lucky to have him! ??

Today, this AMAZING literacy and empowerment organization that illuminates the voice of young people through creative writing won a Creating Change award at the Association of Fundraising Professionals of Central Florida’s National Philanthropy Day Celebration. Congratulations to executive director, Julia Young, staff Nancy Robbinson, Alexandra Smith, Eliana Alicea, and board president Steven Nguyen. I joined the board a few months ago and am so very excited about our future!

After careful discussion, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this year's Mixtape: Studio 15 benefit concert due to the impact of Hurricane Milton. This is the first time we've had to cancel an event, and we're truly devastated to lose the chance to connect with friends, share our mission, and raise vital funds for our literacy programs. But Milton won’t stop all the fun! On Monday, November 4th at 10 AM, Page 15 will kick off a VIRTUAL AUCTION to help make up for the funds we lost from having to cancel the event. Let's get shopping! Paul Driscoll has worked passionately as Page 15’s Programs Director and has been a celebrated teacher for over 20 years, creating and delivering outstanding creative writing curriculum. Nothing is more important to him than our mission at Page 15: providing a stress-free, safe environment for young authors to discover, explore, and use their voices. ???
