At this age, kids are naturally curious and eager to learn about the world around them—making it the perfect time to introduce them to agricultural practices, safety, and careers! In 2024, the Progressive Agriculture Safety Day program reached 16,636 4th graders, equipping them with essential knowledge to stay safe and informed about agriculture. By engaging students early, we can: ? Build awareness of where their food comes from ???? ? Teach essential farm & rural safety skills ???? ? Inspire the next generation of ag professionals ???????? Whether they grow up on a farm or in the city, every child benefits from agricultural education! Now, she’s taken her passion to the next level—coordinating her own PAF Safety Day to educate and protect the next generation of farm families. ?? Coordinator Spotlight: Cherrie Curtis ?? Meet Cherrie Curtis, a true champion of safety education! Since 2002, Cherrie has been a lead PAF Safety Day Coordinator in Bowie County, Texas, organizing 23 impactful Safety Days for local youth. Her dedication earned her the prestigious Bernard Geschke Award in 2022 and a seat on PAF’s Board of Directors in 2024. Cherrie’s commitment to teaching 8th graders life-saving safety skills stems from her belief that prevention is key: “Every day I don’t see a preventable tragedy in the news is a success.
