We applaud the President of the Maldives for taking a stand to not resume longlining. Below is the letter that PADI + PADI AWARE Foundation sent to demonstrate our opposition and to support sustainable fisheries and the local dive economy. We want to thank all the dive centers, non-profits and local community members that worked to be a voice for the ocean. The dive industry and divers around the world are critical advocates in the fight for marine life.
