Taking a cue from Gettysburg’s significant landscape and its legacy and future, the 2025 PA-DE ASLA Conference on Landscape Architecture is built on the theme “Echoes and Horizons: Building the Future While Preserving the Past”. Take in the history and contemplate the future. Join us April 10-12, 2025 in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. We are looking for impactful projects from landscape architects in our region. Earlier this month, I was delighted to join the Pennsylvania-Delaware ASLA Chapter for their 2024 Conference at Skytop Lodge (an early Olmsted brothers project) in eastern PA! PA-DE ASLA were amazing hosts, and I enjoyed my time learning from the very technical speakers, seeing the outstanding award winning projects and visiting with the exhibitors. I gave a 60-minute update on the many programs and achievements ASLA has realized, both recently and throughout the 125 years of our Society's history. We also took time to reminisce about the PA-DE ASLA Chapter history, as they celebrate their 84th anniversary this year. I was very impressed with the session Extending the Table: Adding "Leaves" for the Next Generation of Landscape Architects, and the work done with ACLAMO Family Centers students and faculty!
