College essays are a powerful way for students to express themselves, and share who they are with admissions officers and scholarship providers—beyond their test scores and transcripts. But a large share of students are missing out on this opportunity by allowing generative AI like ChatGPT to do the talking for them, often due to a lack of confidence in their writing skills.
