关于我们
The Packaging Program at Virginia Tech has been serving the packaging and pallet industry since 1976. Our historical strength has been pallets and unit loads; however, our focus has been expanded to food and pharmaceutical packaging, packaging design and packaging business and marketing. We offer degrees at an undergraduate, M.S. and Ph.D. level. Our research and extension arm is the Center for Packaging and Unit Load design who provides research and contract testing services to the packaging industry.

This past week, I had the incredible opportunity to attend PACK EXPO in Chicago. It was an eye-opening experience to see the latest innovations in packaging technology and design, and to connect with so many industry professionals. I’d like to extend a big thank you to Packaging Program at Virginia Tech for organizing the trip and bringing 24 students, as well as to PMMI: The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies for hosting such a well-executed event. I also had the chance to compete in the Amazing Packaging Race with five other students from schools like Virginia Tech, Clemson, and Wisconsin Stout. My team, Group 14, put in a lot of effort and came out on top, taking 1st place out of 28 teams and winning $1,000 each! A special thanks to PMMI for organizing the race and to Emerson for sponsoring the event. I hope to be able to attend this event again in the future!

It was a great time to see our strong supporters at their headquarters. Special thanks to, Sylvia Tomal , Jerry Brook, AJ Miller, and all other engineers who gave us a great tour to various labs. Also great to see our student, Ray Flannagan , who is working there as a coop student. #virginia_tech, SBIO @ Virginia Tech , Packaging Program at Virginia Tech , #students

On Oct 3rd, CJ America, Inc. and CJ BIOMATERIALS, Inc. visited the VT Packaging program. The meeting was organized by Karin Clark, who is an associate director of LINK: the Center for Advancing Partnerships at Virginia Tech. It was more than happy to host Dr. Yunil Hwang and Mr. Harry Jang and there was a fruitful discussion to find collaboration opportunities in diverse areas of packaging. Packaging Program at Virginia Tech has been partnering with global packaging industries and the program has proved their strengths and capability in both #research and #education in #packaging for the last 40+ years. Special Thanks to Dr.Yunil Hwang and Mr. Harry Jang for their visit and we look forward to meeting with you again! I am excited to share this video from VT News with you all, which sheds some light on the project that I have been involved in for the past nine months. I am so grateful to be contributing to such a wonderful multidisciplinary project. My research is focused on improving the thermal stability of PHA through the application of novel inclusion complex technologies, with the goal of diversifying the range of potential applications of the bioplastic for the packaging sector. https://lnkd.in/efR2d9xg
