The mission of Packages From Home is to send care and comfort packages to deployed American military heroes who are stationed in active duty theaters around the world, as well as to facilitate activities that elevate morale of all veterans. Our primary purpose is to provide food, personal care, and recreational items to deployed American troops, at no cost to them. In 2012 Packages From Home sent nearly 20,000 pounds in bulk shipments and approximately 7,400 individual boxes to soldiers. Over 45,000 soldiers lives were touched! Since PFH's creation we have sent over 140,000 care packages and hundreds of thousands of pounds overseas. Our goal is to ship many more. We collect donated items from generous patriotic citizens who live all across America. These items include non-perishable food, personal toiletries, and recreational items like games, books, CDs and DVDs. Our volunteers carefully pack the donations into USPS Flat-Rate Priority Mail boxes. The boxes are then mailed to U.S. servicemen and women who are deployed overseas in harm's way. In 2012, Packages From Home began a program called "Packages For Hope"? serving our veterans in need. We expanded our mission based on the needs of our veterans and are now supplying tangible necessities and hygiene items to veterans who are homeless, or in jeopardy of becoming homeless.     Come help support one of the largest distributors of supplies to veterans in need at the largest event of it's kind in the nation! Calling Volunteers ages 21+: Join Packages From Home at the 2025?Maricopa County?Stand?Down! This resource fair is the nation's largest event of its kind, and aims to provide veterans in Arizona with the opportunity to renew their spirit, health, and overall sense of well-being. Packages From Home will be distributing food, hygiene, entertainment, and K9 items to veterans in need.   • Join us at the 2025 Maricopa County Stand Down! The Arizona Veterans StandDown Alliance (AVSA), established in 2013, is a program of the Arizona Housing Coalition that holds annual events and resource fairs in 13 of Arizona’s 15 counties, including the nation's largest event of its kind, the annual Maricopa County StandDown. This event allows veterans and their families who are experiencing housing instability and homelessness to get and stay connected to housing and supportive services. This event will take place at the Arizona State Fairgrounds (1862 W. McDowell Road, Phoenix) March 13, 2025 | 7:00am - 3:30pm March 14, 2025 | 7:00am - 2:30pm Open to all veterans in need of the following resources: - Court/Legal Services - Employment Support - MVD Services - Housing Assistance - VA Benefits - Disability Claims - Social Security - Education Services - Prescription Eye Glasses - Haircuts - Mental Health Programs - Department of Economic Security - VA Healthcare - Pet Care - So much more! Transportation will be provided by U.S. Vets, Community Bridges Inc, and the VA. Veterans, please bring your DD Form 4, ID cards, Social Security cards, any court paperwork, and any disability claim information. NO TICKET OR PURCHASED REQUIRED - JUST SHOW UP!
