Black Breastfeeding Week might be over, but we’re still celebrating—and Jasmine Creighton gave us every reason to! At the San Bernardino Black Breastfeeding Week Celebration, she didn’t just attend—she led, sharing vital resources, local support systems, and her own powerful experiences with new and expecting parents. This year’s theme, "Listen Up: Reclaiming Our Narrative and Centering Our Stories for Breastfeeding Justice", came to life as Jasmine and other panelists shared their personal stories and answered audience questions. Parents left feeling seen, heard, and better equipped to overcome the challenges many Black families face in their breastfeeding journeys. Jasmine’s passion was undeniable, as she said, “Showing up for my community is why I do this work,” and show up she did—inspiring everyone in the room with her wisdom and authenticity. We’re more than grateful to Jasmine—not just for representing Pacify at this event, but for the heart and impact she brought. Her work resonated deeply, and the connections she made with families were nothing short of remarkable. A huge thank you also goes to Katelyn McAdams, Caroline Judy, Jennifer Sargent, Ithamar Turenne MHMS, MSN, RN, CBC, and Melanie Silverman for their behind-the-scenes efforts in making this event unforgettable! From the eye-catching flyers to the signature Pacify bags seen everywhere, Jasmine and Mel were all smiles as they saw firsthand the excitement and curiosity about Pacify. Doula Scholarship Winners received $2,500 to cover their online or in-person learning, ensuring they gain the skills needed to support birthing people in meaningful ways. ? Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) Scholarship Winners received $1,000 to continue their educational path toward becoming essential resources for families in need of breastfeeding support. ? International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) Scholarship Winners received $5,000 to advance their expertise and help them make a lasting difference in the breastfeeding community. Recently, we had the absolute pleasure of celebrating a major milestone—our incredible Chief Clinical Officer, Melanie Silverman, marked 10 amazing years with Pacify! From day one, Melanie has been a driving force behind our mission, making a real difference for our members and our team. To honor her, we put together a list of the top 10 things we love about Mel! Thank you, Melanie, for everything you do, the wisdom you share, and the way you lead with your heart. We’re so lucky to have you with us! 1. Leads with love 2. Brings joy and empathy to all the work she does 3. She’s HYSTERICAL–she always keeps us laughing through highs and lows 4. She is adaptable - there’s no challenge Mel shies away from, if she doesn’t have an answer she’ll learn anything new and find a way to deliver 5. Meticulous - Mel thinks of every little detail that goes into creating the absolute best, top-quality Pacify experience; no i’s left undotted or t’s uncrossed! 6. Genuine and authentic - Mel earnestly cares about what she does and the people around her, she never phones it in and gives her all because she truly cares 7. She has the biggest heart; there’s no issue too small for her to make time to listen and support anyone who comes to her for help and guidance 8. She’s mission-driven to the core; even after 10 years she always reminds our teams to ask ourselves how we’re helping make an impact in the lives of those we serve 9. She’s fearless! There’s no audience too large that would scare her away from stepping up when she’s needed, including live on Instagram in front of thousands of viewers. 10. Her infectious empathy. She has a way of making people feel warm and fuzzy inside. She truly cares and is the embodiment of a true leader.
