Mass Timber is emerging as a sustainable and innovative alternative to traditional construction materials. At Pacific Partners, we are dedicated to developing the necessary infrastructure to transform #masstimber from an alternative into a viable, dependable, and sustainable option for all new construction projects. This project sets a precedent for the numerous benefits that the use of #masstimber offers, especially to the science sector.
One of the world’s most technically advanced research labs is being built in #masstimber, a first, as ZGF Architects and the College of Forestry at Oregon State University work together to build a $213m experimental research lab made out of Freres Wood #massplypanels –?a new type of engineered wood that is stronger than #crosslaminatedtimber and lighter than steel. MONTANA FESTIVAL: GIVES A DAMN Montana Festival brought out the BEST of Montana. The energy and direction were solution-oriented, focusing on real issues. I had already fallen for the Missoula community, but I didn’t know how deeply the sense of community extended throughout Montana. I was invited to the Montana Festival to meet some of the leaders in Montana Commerce and Development. We have attended numerous community events, but nothing like this. The organizers, Padden Guy Murphy and Lumay Wang Murphy were coming from the right place of caring about the future and quality of their community. Their goal was to bring together leaders to solve the issues Montana is currently facing. They have curated an impressive cohort with a shared vision and heart. It was an event that I was proud to be a part of; everyone I met was there for the right reasons. Creating business opportunities, preserving the community, and attacking the affordable housing crisis. Our company, Pacific Partners, is working on an innovation district in Missoula, Montana, with the goal of igniting the community through private/public partnerships. Our goal is to advance research and development through collaboration and community. This festival couldn’t have been more aligned with our goals. I was impressed with the quality and intentions of the business people I met there. There were world-class speakers who projected authenticity and a desire for a better future. Some standouts included Chris Sacca, Kai-Uwe Bergmann, FAIA, Liz Marchi, and Yarrow Kraner. All of whom I had seen their work but didn’t know the person behind it. I appreciated how issues were highlighted with creative solutions and brought to the table. There was a shared vision for a progressive Montana with tangible action items in everything from voting, community development, affordable housing, and strategic investment. If you get a chance to watch some of the Festivals online, it will showcase many of the creative solutions. I hope this festival continues in the light it was created. If you really want to feel the heart and warmth of the Montana Festival, you have to attend. See you next year! #MontanaFestival #Innovation #Community #MissoulaInnovation #PacificPartners
