On Wednesday, March 12th, at the Hillsboro campus, Pacific University School of Pharmacy, under the leadership of Sara Snyder, MS Candidate 2025, organized a Cultural Awareness Night about fasting. Faculty and students worked together and provided a 1-hour CE in Cultural Competency. Fasting is a regular practice that has been highly regarded by many religions. In addition, people fast for non-religious reasons to achieve their well-being and health-related goals. The holy month of Ramadan is a wonderful time to promote cultural awareness about fasting, celebrate the practice of fasting, and also to learn about the science behind it. A delicious dinner, "Iftar" was served to top off the evening. It was an amazing night to see University students, staff, faculty, and friends come together to recognize fasting practices across different cultures and religions. It's just one of many ways our School of Pharmacy community is so special!
