East Coast powder days can be just as thrilling as out West. A select few resorts rival any Western mountain including perennial snow magnet Jay Peak Resort. Known for its consistent snow and tree-skiing, Jay Peak’s remote location ensures ample untouched powder even after big storms. Its 359-inch average makes it the #1 snowiest spot in the East, drawing skiers and snowboarders from across the Northeast and beyond.

Thank a snowmaker! Jay Peak Resort officially fired up the snow guns this past weekend, marking the first snowmaking pass of the 2024-25 season. From 10pm Friday to 10am Sunday, the team focused on blanketing the Stateside summit, the upper section of the Jet, and the Montrealer. Powderhorn Mountain Resort saw its first meaningful snow, too, with the guns firing up there as well on top of a natural base. Opening days are just around the corner. Powderhorn is tentatively set to launch the season on Friday, November 22, followed by Jay Peak on Friday, November 29. Huge shoutout to our dedicated snowmaking crews—your hard work is setting the stage for another unforgettable winter!

Jay Peak Resort's webcam caught photos and and video of Comet Tsuchinshan-Atlas (A3) flying past the Vermont resort between 7-7:30 p.m Thursday night. The 'comet of the century' cruising across the sky capped off an incredible week with over a foot of snow, fiery foliage, and a full moon.

A foot of snow just fell at Jay Peak Resort, named the best in Vermont by the readers of Boston.com earlier this year. Snowy trails amid foliage prompted exuberant praise and the first tracks of the season for some diehard fans. "Well today was certainly a treat, no tricks, thanks to a foot of snow near the summit and cover down to the base since this storm cycle started Monday. Gotta love the blending seasons and the foliage doing its best to hang on as winter takes over the top for now," officials reported from the resort. ??
