DoD is directing service acquisition executives to update Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) guidance to reflect recent changes mandated by Congress. ? MOSA is an acquisition and design strategy, consisting of technical architectures, that adopts open standards and supports a modular, loosely coupled, and highly cohesive system structure.?MOSA is key to quickly integrating advanced warfighting capabilities. ? The DoD guidance is outlined in a Dec. 17 memo requiring the services to identify and report out on MOSA activities that are shared, under development or being transitioned. The services are also expected to publish implementation guidance mandated in 2019. The service secretaries, who signed the memo, are also required to report progress toward implementing MOSA’s pillars. Read the memo here?https://lnkd.in/dQqJpMMM.
