?? Last Friday, we had a blast connecting with high school students at the Friends of the Children-Portland Career Fair! ?? As a nonprofit committed to empowering youth through long-term mentorship, Friends of the Children has been making a powerful impact in our community for over 30 years. Their unique approach pairs each child with a dedicated mentor from kindergarten all the way through high school graduation, helping them overcome obstacles and build skills for future success. We’re proud to support their mission and be part of their career fair, where we had the chance to chat about career paths and opportunities at Pacific Coast Fresh! It's inspiring to see such dedication to guiding young people toward bright futures, and we can’t wait to stay connected with these amazing students. ??

What began with just a few family members and a commitment to quality has now grown into Pacific Coast Fresh Company, a leader in fresh produce across the Pacific Northwest with over 400 dedicated team members across two facilities in Portland and Kent. From our founders’ belief that “people make a business” to our team’s daily commitment to building trusted connections from farms to families, we owe our success to everyone who believes in us: our customers, partners, and every member of the PCF family. As we celebrate 47 years of Pacific Coast Fresh Company, we're not just looking back at our incredible journey but forward to the exciting road ahead. ???? Our team had an incredible visit to Giumarra Farms, Inc. Farm in Yakima, WA, where we walked their packing line and got an in-depth look at the unique Lemonade apple! This firm, yellow apple is a true taste experience—grown locally here but originally from New Zealand, where it was cross-pollinated with Braeburn and Gala varieties. The result? An incredibly refreshing apple with a balanced, sweet-tart flavor that lives up to its name! Grateful for the opportunity to see the process firsthand and learn more about bringing these exceptional apples to our community!

Yesterday, some of our team took a farm tour of River Valley Fruit, LLC dba Conrad & Adams Fruit, LLC in Washington State, where we explored EverCrisp orchards and had the incredible opportunity to connect with the grower himself! ???? We were blown away by the cutting-edge technology they’re using to monitor each tree's daily growth and the respiration of the apples, helping them stay on top of the trees' health in real time. They walked us through the entire growing process, including how starch levels in the apples guide the ideal time for harvest, ensuring every EverCrisp is picked at its peak size and flavor. Big thanks to River Valley Fruit for hosting us and sharing their amazing insights and innovations! It’s inspiring to work alongside growers so passionate about their craft and dedicated to bringing us the best fruit possible.

Hatback Bar & Grille, located right across from T-Mobile Park, has become the city’s go-to spot for year-round dining, brewing, and sports entertainment. Inspired by Seattle’s rich sports history, Hatback pays tribute to the legendary Ken Griffey Jr. with a nod to his iconic backwards cap.??? Since its debut two years ago, Hatback has been a hit with fans heading to Sounders, Mariners, and Seahawks games.
