The John J. Hansell Award was established in memory of John Hansell by his parents, Ed and Phyllis Hansell, along with the support of many generous donors. The award honors exceptional Milieu Treatment Counselors, Overnight Youth Counselors, and Crisis Intervention Workers who demonstrate outstanding dedication and advocacy for children. Sakshi's nominator stated, "Sakshi is a huge asset to her team and to the youth’s treatment. She combines the perfect amount of nurturing and structure on the unit for the youth, which then helps with her teammate’s ability to help run the milieu. She is open to change and feedback and is always growing and learning new skills to help herself, the team, and the youth.
