The Spire of Dublin, also known as the Monument of Light, is a large stainless steel, needle-like monument located on O'Connell Street in Dublin, Ireland. It was completed in 2003 and stands at approximately 120 meters (393 feet) tall, making it one of the tallest sculptures in the world. The Spire was designed by architect Ian Ritchie as part of a project to revitalize the area and replace Nelson's Pillar, which had been destroyed in 1966. The Spire tapers from a 3-meter-wide base to a point at the top, with its surface reflecting light during the day and subtly illuminated at night, symbolizing modernity and renewal in the heart of Dublin.
