PA Health & Wellness (PHW) was a proud sponsor of Uplift Solutions Hardship to Hope Annual Reception and Gala in Philadelphia. Uplift Solutions’ mission is to reduce the barriers for justice-involved individuals and at-risk youth, helping them find pathways to long term success. Anna Keith, PHW's Vice President, Long-Term Services and Supports, Anna Keith, and Chief Medical Director, Dr. Craig Butler represented PA Health & Wellness at the Gala.

On Monday, November 11, PA Health & Wellness Chief Operating Officer, Marc Giordano, presented a $20,000 grant to the Boots To Health Foundation of Mechanicsburg, PA. Boots to Health Foundation is dedicated to supporting local Veterans in improving their physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. Services include physical fitness training, nutrition coaching, spiritual counseling, and life coaching, all provided to veterans at no cost. The holistic approach aims to address all areas contributing to the overall well-being of veterans. Additionally, the foundation is committed to building a community for veterans and raising awareness about veteran health issues, including being a forum for veteran discussions and providing health education to those who have served. This grant will be used to support the Boots to Health Foundation activities including recovery services health and fitness services as well as Posttraumatic Syndrome Disorder (PTSD) counseling. Logan Spiewak, founder of Boots to Health Foundation, shared with those gathered, “We are very humbled and grateful for our partnership from PA Health & Wellness. A New Dawn Inc. CEO/Founder, Dawn Wilkerson (a longtime resident and community member of the Mill Creek-Parkside section of West Philadelphia) started A New Dawn, Inc., a grassroots organization dedicated to community gardening and neighborhood preservation. Ms. Wilkerson has been able to provide inclusiveness for adults with disabilities to access and participate in the community gardening. A New Dawn receives assistance from a number of community partners to provide fresh fruits, vegetables, and herbs to the community. The garden also practices safe space and mindfulness as a focus for positive interactions for stress and trauma reduction due to community violence.

Kay Gore and Dreona Bey were proud to represent PA Health & Wellness (PHW) at the Mission of Mercy's dental, vision and hearing clinic that serves patients in need. This two-day event was held in Pittsburgh, PA. All services were free of charge by local clinical professionals with no eligibility or insurance requirements. Membership Retention Specialist, Estelle Walker, represented PA Health & Wellness (PHW) this past Saturday at Senator Maria Collett’s Family Health Fair at the Willow Grove YMCA. Families of the 12th district came out for games, snacks, health screenings and free vaccines. PHW was a vendor and provided a variety of table giveaways and healthy literacy information for residents of all ages.
