? PALA Commends Legislative Support for Seniors in Personal Care Homes and Assisted Living Residences?? The Pennsylvania Assisted Living Association (PALA) applauds State Representatives Tarik S. Khan, Kristin Marcell, Justin Fleming, Abigail Salisbury, and Senator Joseph Picozzi for their engagement with DHS Secretary Arkoosh during this week’s budget hearings. Their focus on critical issues impacting Pennsylvania’s Personal Care Home and Assisted Living industry—including increasing the state’s portion of SSI, the Personal Care Boarding Home supplement, for low-income seniors and addressing Medicaid access in Assisted Living communities—demonstrates a strong commitment to supporting our most vulnerable residents. Last Thursday, PALA had the pleasure of visiting Arbor Terrace Exton, where we joined Senator Carolyn Comitta and her staff for a tour of this exceptional community. During the visit, we discussed the critical need for assisted living services to be covered by Medicaid and emphasized the importance of increasing the SSI PCH supplement as state budget negotiations progress. We sincerely thank Senator Comitta for her time and interest in these pressing issues.
